Today's To do's

How is that for a title :o)

I did a little grocery shopping today--it always feels good to get out and buy a few things for the kitchen--I picked up things for dinner---not sure what I am going to make, but I picked up some fresh mushrooms, they were on sale--fresh green beans and cabbage--I also got some ground beef--and a few other things.

I also brought down all the laundry and started in on that. Hopefully between laundry day and taking care of my kids I can get some baking done. Little Kevin is now able to climb onto the couch---the only problem with that, is that he refuses to get off the couch the way I show him--he wants to leap off like superman--he is surely my daredevil--because neither of my other children did things like he does----I can't take the couch away--but every time, I have to go to the bathroom or go in the kitchen he is back on the couch ready to leap off--Ugh--I don't like putting him in a playpen, but if it is for safety reasons I may have too--what are your thoughts on this--any helpful ideas--do I just let him leap off and learn that it hurts?

Anyway, summer is coming to an end--and I am so thrilled about that...LOL :)

Happy Wednesday!

Ohh, with a new school year coming upon us, I am thinking about re-doing my notebook--freshening it up.

I am looking forward to Fall as well.

All 3 of my boys liked to jump off the couch like superman. I would get on to them but they still did it. lol
Then they discovered they could take all the cushions off the couch and stack them up and then jump on them. UGH.

I will probably freshen up my notebook as well when the boys get back into school. I always felt like Fall was a new beginning kinda like spring. I guess because Fall is my favorite time of the year I just feel energized with the cooler weather.

That is so funny about little Kevin and the couch... I posted a picture of my little mischief maker running the length of the couch last week. I try not to let him do it either, and like Kevin, every time I turn my back he is up there and running!! He slipped off once and would have landed OK, but a slippery blanket on the floor caused his foot to slide out from under him and he fell on his head. You'd think he would learn, but 10 seconds later he was back at it. If he is being really stubborn I will block off the family room with the playpen so he can't go in. But he is almost able to climb out of the pen, so I can't use it to contain him for long. I'm not sure if it's OK to just let them do it... my mom would say let boys be boys and my brothers both came out great, but I am more cautious. Let me know what you figure out or decide!! I know I will be checking back with your comments to see what others say!! =)

Boys are a bit more difficult. My son at 18 months had a black eye. He was also my hyper one, well till Kiera because she is more hyper than he was.

Make a batman cape? Put lots of cushions on the floor and move anything he could get hurt on? I have no answers. This stage will pass.

I love fall too. I have a small pot of mums on my front steps, I took down 99% of the summer decorations out front and I'm so ready for September and FALL decorations! :)

We just grocery shopped this evening. Every last item we bought was on sale.
I love sales. That is the way to shop and stock up.

I do agree that the play pen is nice to have around for those reasons...yes, we do have to go to the bathroom...yes, we do have to make lunch or whatever.
It's hard to be right there every second.. It only takes a second to take a tumble.
Good luck. I'm not sure what else to tell ya. Other than try things like the playpen.
I suppose he is too old for the exersaucer.
I don't know what else to tell ya other than getting hime interested in a toy before you head for the bathroom or kitchen.

Boys! I have four of them, so I know what you are going through! I did everything I could to keep them safe, but there comes a time when you got to let them go and trust God. I did use the play pen, but that only works for awhile and they learn how to escape from it! I just made sure there were many fun toys in there to play with. He will probably pass this phase soon. I have been thinking about you going through your recent loss and I pray that you are doing okay with it.

God bless you sweetie.

I can just imagine little Kevin jumping off that couch! LOL I hate to tell you this, but Benjamin still jumps off our fireplace hearth and he is 7. :0) I would use the playpen for when you have to step away for a moment...otherwise, get used to Superman..hehehe.
