Apple Pie Monday

When morning comes, are you excited to start the new day--or do you hit the snooze several times before you get up? I actually wake up before my alarm goes off, but I have it on just in case I don't wake up. I love starting each new day, and can't wait to get up..LOL.

Also before I fall asleep at night, I usually lay in bed and think about things I would like to do the next day. What I might bake, what I may make for dinner, do I need to go to the store, what project will I start--and sometimes, I even think about what I might wear.Today is Monday, and I have a lot to do today. My asthma had flared up really bad last week, from catching a cold and the California fires, the smoke just really irritated my lungs. I tried not to do too much over the weekend, so I wouldn't make my asthma worse--I haven't had an attack like that in years. My sweet husband took Alexis to the pumpkin patch yesterday, so she could ride the ponies, I stayed home, I don't think being outside would have been good for me.
So on my agenda---A couple loads of laundry
Make an apple pie--yummy
Clean out pumpkins and roast the seeds--I love pumpkin seeds.
Make little meatballs for tonight's dinner
and then all the normal daily stuff---keep kitchen tidy, vacuum, etc....:)

You all have an absolutely warm and safe Monday xoxoxox
I think we should all bake an apple pie today:)

My Pumpkin Pie:)

I made this pumpkin pie this afternoon. I bet it made my home smell lovely...I couldn't smell it, because of my cold...LOL:)

Wonderful Wednesday:)

I went to the Doctors Monday:) I am 3 months and 3 days---My due date is May 6th--and if the ultrasound coincides with me and my doctor, my c-section will be scheduled for April 26th:)

I heard the heartbeat and cried--happy tears:) I think I look pregnant (little baby bump), but everyone says no..LOL--and I just say, oh, you all just think I am gaining weight..LOL.

All my stats are fine, so far---I am going for an ultrasound on Friday, and they have this new ultrasound test that gives you statistics of down syndrome, and since I am 36 I qualify for the test, since I refused the amnio, which the Doctor agreed, he said 36 is still young, and not high risk in my book--I love my doctor. It would not make a difference, because I will love whatever God decides is right for me--but, I may be able to find out the sex---->that is what I am looking for, and also I want to see my baby:)

My daughter caught a cold a couple days ago, she is feeling better now, but it is has decided to move into me..LOL--icky cold, sore throat ...etc. Today is my semi-free today, so hopefully I can read and post a little more today, in between my laundry and housework--I think I am going to make a pumpkin pie today too:) Tuesdays and Fridays I am room mom in my daughter's class, and Thursday's I take my Grandma shopping, plus my kids have teeth cleaning appointments at the dentists this Thursday and next. I am on the PTA, and this is RED RIBBON week, so we had a parade through town after school--it was so cute--I took some pictures, of my daughter marching, I will post soon--my son was there, but was too cool too march..LOL. I am a SAHM, so when I say free day, I mean no room mom, pta, doctor/Dentist, shopping with my Grandma..etc---and my free day usually falls on Wednesday--okay did I just confuse all of you....LOL. Anyway, I am so very excited for Friday, and the Doctor says there is a chance if the baby cooperates I can find out the sex----do I have a preference?? no--but it would be nice to know, so I can start preparing for my precious child:) You all have a wonderful Wednesday xoxox

Breaded Pork Strips and Other Fun Stuff:)

I made these for dinner last night. I dipped the pork strips in egg then dredged them in a mixture of flour and onion soup mix---and then I fried them. They turned out crispy on the outside and moist in the inside. This is a family favorite, and anything fried, my husband just loves, being the southern man he is...LOL:)

Tonight I am going to make homemade eggrolls--I will let you know tomorrow how they turn out:)

I took my Grandmother shopping yesterday, so I have a free day at home today, my machines are going----I love a busy working home--my dishwasher is running and so is my washing machine--clean clothes and clean dishes--YAY:)

Tomorrow, I am room mom at my daughter's school--we go to the library, so I am the library girl:) The Santa Ana's are here today--yucky!!! The air is so dry and makes everything so staticy. Anyone that has ever lived in Orange County knows what the Santa Ana's are---a very dry wind/heat.

I stopped by the GoodWill yesterday, and bought a new skirt, it is long and it is grey--it is a straight skirt--and I think it will go lovely with a few of my blouses, plus it has an elastic waist--which is good since I am going into my second trimester--YAY!!!!! I can tell I have a bump--but no one else can.

I am going to be makeing a pumpkin pie one day this week---my family just loves pumpkin pie, especially with a dollop of whip cream.

I had read once in a magazine, about women that are newly married and don't know how to cook really well---to saute some celery and onion in a pan, and it will make your house smell like you are a great cook, and your husband will be so happy when he comes home to a wonderfully smelling house, even if you can only manage to cook a grilled cheese...LOL:) I always think about that article, around the holidays, especially when I am making stuffing and cooking celery and onion..LOL--well I am going to go for now---You all have a Wonderful Thursday:) xoxoxox

My little Kitty Cat:)

My daughter asked if I would draw whiskers on her cheeks so she could be a kitty cat..LOL. I used my black eyeliner and drew whiskers:)

Stuffed Mushrooms

The Farmers Market had a sale on mushrooms--so I bought a bunch, my family loves mushrooms. So for tonight as an appetizer before dinner I made these stuffed mushrooms--just before Kevin comes home, I will pop them in the oven and top with some more cheese. They go fast. They are always a favorite at my parties too.

Simple Stuffed Mushrooms Recipe:
Pop off stems and grind in food processer, I have a mini one so it is perfect.
Then add two green onions in processer and grind up those.
Melt about 2 tablespoons of butter in a pan and saute ground up mushroom and onion--add a few dashes of Worshtershire sauce, break up a piece off bread into it and add some chedder cheese, when it is all melted and heated through, then just stuff the buttons. When ready for the oven, drizzle some butter over the mushrooms and sprinkle some more cheese. Bake at 350 for about 20 minutes, then under the broiler for a minute--YUMMY!!!!!!

Banana Bread

What do you do when you have bananas that are getting too ripe? Well, if you are like me, you make banana bread:) I made this loaf of Banana Bread this morning, and boy, oh boy did my house smell good---yummy. The recipe I use for Banana Bread is Betty Crockers. Want a piece?

My Fruit Tree--YAY

Look at this!!! I had no idea what kind of tree I had in my backyard. So I posted it on the Prairie Homemaker Forum, and TA-DA---Some one knew--it is a pommagranite tree--can you believe it?? There are so many of these fruits on the tree.

Wheat Sheeths

I bought this bundle of wheat at Henry's Farmer's Market yesterday for .99 cents. I put them in a vase and put them on my table---doesn't it just say FALL IS HERE...LOL:)

Cupcakes--Spooky:)

These are the cupcakes I made for Halloween. They are Chocolate cupcakes, with white frosting made orange with food coloring, topped with black and orange M&M's and black spiders:)

Dentist, Ghosts, TP Squares

Today is the day, this afternoon I have to take my daughter for a filling--OUCH!!! I was hoping my husband could get off early to go with me, I know there are going to be tears, but her tooth really needs to get fixed. I feel terrible, I was always so good at brushing her teeth and making sure they were clean.

It is really chilly today. It is quiet here right now, with both children at school and Kevin at work. I made my rice already for tonight--I am going to make fried rice so I need the steamed rice to be chilled for that tonight. My Grandma gave me a package of Orange chicken she had--she didn't want it, which is good for me--my kids love orange chicken:) Hopefully Alexis will be able to eat after the dentist.

I bought some Blow-pops to make ghosts with. I take tissue and and twist tie it around the sucker and with a marker I make little ghost faces--those are just one of the things I hand out for Trick or Treat. I also make goody bags to hand out.

I just love Holidays.

I measured my tummy with Toilet paper this morning, I am almost 8 squares..LOL. All my clothes fit just fine still. With Alexis I was showing by 3 months--so I am almost at the 3 month mark, so I am waiting to pop out..LOL.

Well, that is all for now. You all have a Wonderful Wednesday!!!! xoxoxox

Talented Tuesday

Do you ever start a post, and have no idea what to title your post? I do that almost everyday..LOL. I could title each post of the day of the week---but then I thought that sounds just too plain. So I titled my post Talented Tuesday...LOL. Do you have a talent? I have always wanted to learn to play the piano, but never have yet. I say yet, because I will one day--I am not sure when but I will. I think at the present moment my talent is cooking--I can honestly say, I am a great cook. My worst talent, if you haven't already guessed is my spelling..LOL--where is the spell check when you need it?

On my site meter, I see many people from all over the country stop and read:) So if you want to play, tell me what your talent is.

I am room mom today, so I will be gone for a short while.

Dinner tonight:

Spaghetti and meatballs
Garlic bread
Salad

You all have a Nice Tuesday xoxoxox

Vanilla, Placemats and Old Signs

I had mentioned in a previous post that my husband had bought me a bottle of Giorgio, which I love, I also love the perfume Obsession--but my absolute favorite perfume I love to use is Warm Vanilla Sugar--I use the body soap, lotion and then spray--I layer the scent so it lingers all day--when my husband comes home, he always says, how nice I smell..LOL:) I just the love the smell of Vanilla--I also light vanilla candles in my home--there is just something about that scent, that I just love. I had ran out of my Vanilla products, so I ran to Walmart to pick some more up--yes, Walmart--it sells them for such a great price. As I was there I found these placemats pictured below---> A pack of 2 for .75 cents---I just bought 4, they are so cute--and I just love decorating with a country flair. Here is a picture of a sign that is above the entrance to my kitchen--*PUMPKIN PETE'S* I had this sign, but thought I would share a picture of it--it fits nicely with the Fall and Halloween theme, plus it is a bit of country too--that sign will stay up all year.
Tonight's Dinner will be:
Baked Chicken
Mashed Potatoes----> remember I bought a bag of potatoes at the Farmers Market and got one free--YAY!!
Steamed Broccoli
Salad

Dinner will be served in my dining room, I set my table up nicely every night, with napkins, nice plates and salad dishes, etc...Do you think my family will notice the new placemats?? We shall see--I know my Daughter will, she notices everything:)

It is a cool Fall day here in San Clemente, I love it. I am wearing a black skirt with a cream kind of colored cotton top--I don't know how to explain the color, but it matches my skirt...LOL.

Well, that is all for now--You all have a Nice Monday xoxox

Whew

Happy Sunday!!!! I know a lot of people don't blog on Sundays, but I actually find Sunday's a day that I can actually sit down for a minute and write:) I think God is okay with that:)

Thursday, I took my Grandma shopping, we went to the Farmer's Market, and I ended spending 80.00 dollars. I bought so many different kinds of veggies. I also bought three pumpkins--yay:) I love brussel sprouts, especially when you cook them until they are really crispy--yummy--I call my recipe Burnt Brussel Sprouts. Later that day, when my children were home from school, my sister picked up my daughter for a play date with her daughter--the girls have so much fun together:) Dinner was, Teryaki chicken, steamed rice, shitake mushrooms, and a salad with all the fixings.

On Thursday evening Alexis had complained about her back tooth hurting---so Friday morning we went to the dentist--I had to go to her school, and explain that I wasn't going to be able to help out, because we had to go to the dentist. Her teacher said, don't worry, we will be fine:)
Alexis did very well at the dentists--I was very proud of her. My girlfriend also stopped by after dinner, and gave Kevin a trim.( I trim my hair myself) Friday dinner was Italian sausage on french bread with salad. Easy dinner for what seemed like a very long day.

Saturday, I had to go pick up a gift for a birthday party that Alexis was invited to. She had so much fun at the party, especially when Tinkerbell showed up. I did quite a bit of household chores, yesterday too. Dinner was homemade chicken enchiladas, refried beans and salad--yummy!!! I made a huge batch so I am going to freeze the rest for another time.

So much more went on last week, but I can't remember it all..lol--Pregnant Mommy Brain--but I do know, when I went to bed each night, I slept good.

Tonights dinner is going to be Pork strips, Burnt Brussel Sprouts, Twice Baked Potatoes, and of course a salad. I got two bags of potatoes at the Farmer's market, buy one get one free.

Kevin, was short handed last week, so he had to go to work and pick up the slack today, so it isn't so hectic Monday. I have laundry going----I just love the smell of the clean clothes. I am also going to make cupcakes, chocolate with white frosting that I am going to add orange food coloring too. I have really cute cupcake liners with pumpkins and ghosts on them, then I am going to sprinkle some orange and black M&M's on them and put a black spider on each---SPOOKY..LOL.

Another thing I like to do on the computer besides my blog is to go to the Prairie Homemaker website--I just LOVE, LOVE, LOVE that forum!!!!

Well, I have to get the clothes out the dryer, and put the next load in:)

You all have a very Blessed and Peaceful Sunday xoxoxox

I wasn't even able to post yesterday, so I have a lot to write about:) I just love being busy as a wife and mother!!! You all have a very wonderful Thursday xoxox

Tuesday's Ramble

Happy Tuesday. Today is my day at school as room mom:) The news said rain, I don't see it happening though--it's clear and sunny outside, I would say somewhere in the 70's--Oh how I love the rain. I don't really know why, but I have always loved the rain, and in Georgia, it was always raining, so I was happy..LOL. Last night at about 7:00 I was finished with all my work---After Alexis was bathed, I was tired---I usually have so much energy, but the baby is wearing me out---YAY---I am so happy to be pregnant..:) I was talking to some mom's at my daughter's school and we were talking about having more children, and not one of them sounded happy about it---they made comments like better you then me, or I am so glad there are women like you, because I could never do what you do. Some of them couldn't believe I volunteered so much time to my children's school---I don't know--I love my kids so much, and want to be near them and enjoy watching them grow and learn/experience new things. Don't get me wrong, there are moments when Tony teases Alexis (vice-versa), and they get some timeouts, or with Tony he gets things taken away, my kids are no where near perfect, but they are kids, they are good kids, and they are my kids:) ....and I can't wait to have more.

I took some pork out of the freezer, I think I will make some steamed rice and some sort of vegggie--not sure yet, nothing has popped out to me..LOL.

Okay, I will be 10 weeks in a couple days, and I am not sure if I gained or lost anything--I do not believe in weighing myself---when the doctor's weigh me, I tell them to keep it to them self--if it is nothing to worry about, I don't want to know. Too many women, worry so much about there weight--I think caring for your appearance is wonderful--I sure do--I take care of myself, I am 5 feet--and I know my weight fluctuates from 97 to 115--I am a petite girl..LOL....If I feel good about the way I look in the mirror, then who cares how much I weigh..LOL. I eat everything in moderation--I am not a red meat eater--I am more of a veggie/fish gal--I love salads with a good dressing. I don't drink sodas--I drink lots of water with lemon:) Okay, boy did I just ramble..LOL.

I really need to start crocheting again, if I am going to finish the afghan for Kevin done by Christmas--it really is coming out beautiful too.

Here is a thought:

Favorite Homemaking activity: Mine is cooking
Least Favorite Homemaking activity: Dishes---Blah..LOL...I feel like I am always doing dishes--I do them, I don't let them sit, but I have to say it is my least favorite homemakeing activity to do:)
You all have a very blessed and wonderful Tuesday xoxo

Mondays to do's

I just heard *Loves Abiding Joy* is coming out in theatres. Wow, I sure did not expect that. I have not been to the movies in so very long, I may just have to wait for this to come out on video--I am not real good at sitting for very long at the movies, or anywhere for that matter..LOL.

Monday--YAY!!! I adore Mondays:) I woke up at 5:30 to start my day---I am showered and dressed, I used the perfume my husband bought me for my birthday--he bought me Giorgio. My hair is down with a clip holding it out of my face, I have a grey skirt and pink top on---I feel fallish today. Is Fallish a word? I took chicken out of the freezer and I am going to make chicken and dumplings for dinner---I use the Betty Crocker recipe for the dumplings--I double the recipe because my family loves them:) I will do some laundry, and make sure the kids clothes are all ready for school. Oh, I almost forgot, today is student growth day, whatever that is..LOL--well, anyway, all I know is it means no school today, so my children are home today, yay!!!!! I bought a bunch of apples the other day, and I am tempted to make an apple pie--we shall see. I have to clean the kids bathroom today, it is in need of some attention. My big shopping day will be Thursday, I am taking my Grandma shopping that day, so I will be stopping at the Farmer's Market and stocking up there--I love that store. Well, I need to throw a load in the washer, and tidy up the kitchen from breakfast, will write more today if time allows, but until then you all have a Wonderful Monday xoxo

Just a thought

This is just me, writing about something that just crossed my mind, take it or leave it. I was reading the news, and came across a celebrity that found out she was pregnant, and then decided to get married. What is up with that. What happened to getting married first, and then having children???? Okay, I am trying not to be judgemental, but I think some people just have things backwards. Women having children with their *boyfriends*??!!??--oh well, that is just a thought I had---okay I am done.
