Merry Christmas Eve!

Here is Jesus's Birthday cake!
We are having Christmas Eve at my home :)
I will take pictures to share!
XO

Been a very busy last couple of weeks and my beloved blog has not gotten too much attention......

Also, my husband got me a new ring for Christmas, which I can not wait to show you.  It had to be sized, but it is ready for pickup.  My fingers have shrunk, so my wedding ring that I have now keeps falling off my finger.  I always wanted white gold, so that is what I got this time around :)

My Little Luna!!

Most of you that are on my Facebook, know that my Little Luna passed away on Saturday.  I am just heart broken of this loss.  I miss her, I miss her a lot :*(  There was no one like her and I am quite sure there will never be a Guinea Girl like her again.  She was one of kind.  She could out whistle any one...LOL.  She was so sweet and well natured and she was the queen around here.....Oh, how I will miss my sweet Guinea!!

23 Degrees!

IT WAS COLD THIS MORNING!!!
I am very grateful and thankful for heat in the home and car!!

It was a very busy day.
I got up at 5:45 <~~~ That is the usual time I have been getting up during the week.
Have coffee <~~~~ My lifeline!
Make lunches, breakfast...etc.
Get the children off to school.  I always drive Kevin, Alexis sometimes I drive, sometimes she takes the bus.  The bus picks her up right in front of the house too.
Went to Walmart, bought 22 stocking stuffers for Kevin's class, it had to be a non~food item.
Bought Food items that we were assigned too, for the family in need.....and a few more things I needed
Then I went back to Sissy's school and paid for her yearbook...I kept forgetting and the deadline was next week..so while I remembered it, I paid, thank goodness I got that done...LOL.
Today was early release so by the time, I was finished shopping, taking care of the animals, etc....it was time to go back and get Kevin.
I have done 3 loads of laundry in between all this.
I am now washing my jackets, I have been getting a lot of use with them...LOL.  Don't forget to wash your coats, ladies..... ;)
I don't think I have ever shown you my "Princess" jacket, it is pink and says Princess on the back.  It was a gift back in the day when I worked...my nick name at work was "Princess" So a dear friend got me this jacket at Disneyland....It is super special and super warm.

Pork Chops for dinner!!
...and a lot of Hot coffee.

I recorded the remake of Bonnie and Clyde. and have watched about 30 minutes of it...I am on the fence with this....I will let you know after I have seen the whole thing!

Happy Day

A New Week :)

I hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving:)
Ours was very nice!
It is now a new week, and lots to do here.
I have decorated for Christmas, and put Fred away with his family

My MIL gave me this beautiful snowman that I have on our front porch, I will take a picture of him so you can see .

I actually did Black Friday with my husband.  I don't think I have ever done Black Friday...LOL..it wasn't so bad, especially with a Starbuck's in hand...LOL.  Peppermint Mocha!!

Tomorrow, I plan on straitening the tool room, it is a disaster.  It needs a little TLC.

It was cold and rainy today, just the way I like it.  It made the house really dark, so I was able to enjoy the Christmas lights all day.
My husband got me a new toy for my car, a dvd player, I love it!

Tonight, I made a turkey casserole for dinner, I had froze some turkey, just for that casserole.

My husband is sick at the moment, I hope he feels better very soon and it passes little Kevin up!
Have a great Evening

Wednesday!

I woke this morning at 6:00 and have been going non-stop.  I am taking a break right now, so I can get some type of blog post up :)  The picture above was my bread maker today...Happy little dough rose really well.
It is now 6:15 in the evening and I have a few more things to do.  I hope you all are having a nice day.  It was rather cold today, in fact it was very cold, 36 degrees but it felt like 24 degrees, and it even snowed in places around here.
I made my dinner rolls, pumpkin Spice bread, a chocolate cake, cookies, some other type of cookies that I will share the recipe for another day, the are a chocolate ball type cookie.  I also made stuffing, boiled my eggs...and a few more things I can't remember at the moment...LOL...
My sweet husband came home from work with a large Starbuck's Peppermint Mocha, just what I needed :)
Have a wonderful evening.

Tuesday!

I braved the cold and rain this morning and did my grocery shopping.  I went to the closest store near my home.  It is very close, so it was not a far drive at all.  The children stayed home with my SIL, where it was cozy and warm.  I (think) I got everything I need.  I was sooooo BUSY today, from sun up to sun down.  Tomorrow is even going to be more busy.  Lots to do.  I kept my Fall decorations up and just added white lights all over the house, it looks really nice.
If you couldn't guess already, I am having Thanksgiving here:)
I am hoping it will be the best Thanksgiving ever!
I hope everyone is able to have a nice Thanksgiving, I know times are tough for so many.
Have a wonderful evening, stay warm, and be happy for today, you just never know what tomorrow may bring :)
I will be up bright and early tomorrow getting ready for Thursday

Happy Saturday!

Good Morning!

Today, my husband had to go to a meeting, so I am going to use today as a big clean, cleaning day!
I am going to start in my dining room, and make it look real nice, since I am having Thanksgiving here, I want everything to be perfect.  I strung white lights all over the house, and it looks so nice....I have fall decor and white lights.  Did I mention I got a 15 pound turkey at Kroger for 10 dollars..it was originally $23.00...Yay me...LOL
I will then work on the living room, dusting and straitening it up.....
For dinner tonight, I took chicken out, so we will have roasted chicken.  Last night I slow cooked a pork roast with potatoes and mushrooms, it made the house smell so good, with brownies for dessert.

I also plan on vacuuming the stairs, that is a job....I try and do the stairs once a week, I use my Kirby, I love my Kirby, but it is HEAVY.

It started raining here last night, and rained until the morning.  It is all wet and cold outside, perfect day to stay inside and do some housework.  I will light a candle that smells fallish too.

Update on the kittens that I had posted about, they have found their forever home, along with Mama, that I caught.  Mama also had more babies roaming outside that we were able to place too...we still have 1 more kitty, and she is staying in the guest bedroom away from my son.  My SIL stays with us, she is with the cat a lot, (The guest bedroom is her room) and my older son and daughter go in there, too.  She is warm, safe, well fed and content.  Plus all the cats came up clean , no kitty diseases, Yay!!  So 8 little cats have been saved.

Okay, I am going to have another cup of coffee, Peppermint Mocha :)
Have a wonderful morning!

It's the Little Things!

Good Morning!
It is Wednesday, and it is a cold day here in Georgia:)  I love it!
Last night for dinner I made the Goulash again and then while I was making that I also made Cabbage Rolls for tonight's dinner.  Also, while I was grocery shopping, I went to Kroger, they were having a great sale on Turkey's, so I picked up one of those.
The Holidays are upon us, my favorite time of year.

My profile picture for Facebook is an icon that says, "Let Go and Let God" As of late I have been leaning on that little saying for awhile now.  I have been desperately trying to keep a door open that God wants to close.  It is hard when things in life aren't going the way you had planned.  I have been praying and trying to find peace with what is going on and putting my trust in God.  I have always said, my life is not perfect but it is perfect for me, and right now, there is a bump in the road that we are trying to get over. My little one said to me on Saturday, "My Mama always said, Life is like a box of chocolates, you never know what you are going to get"...so true.  It took that little statement to realize that it is true.  You never know what life may dish out to you, but if you have faith in God and love, you can get through anything :) *Side note: My son heard the "Forest Gump Catch phrase" on a game he was playing and recited it word for word...LOL..Bless his little heart :)

So, now, today I am going to take everything off my kitchen counters and give it all a good scrubbing!  I have floors to sweep and laundry to do.  Dinner is already prepared so that just needs to be popped in the oven.  Sissy has dance tonight after school, and I am so happy she enjoys it.  I truly believe kids need extracurricular activities with their peers...Little Kevin LOVES school, which is a good thing!  ;)  Tony is working hard, and has really come a long way :)  My husband, my dear, sweet husband, the stress he has been enduring is sometimes heartbreaking.  He works so hard to give everyone a beautiful life and he comes home bone tired some days.  I try and make the home as calm and nice as possible so he has a place to relax, no worries for him here.  Anyway, enough about that.  I hope this post finds you all well and happy.  I am dedicating this post to a dear friend, Chrissy. My ever faithful reader.  She says I motivate her, but her kind words to me, help motivate me more than she will ever know.  All your kind words make me smile.  Even if I may not reply to all of them, which I try and do, I read everything that comes my way!  You are my sweet friends that have been reading here as long as I have been writing.  For those that are new to my blog, welcome to My Daily Life :) May you all have a glorious day, and remember to "Let Go and Let God"

North Georgia Friends!!

Two beautiful little kittens have found there way into my garage.  I have exhausted all resources available here to find them a home, a forever home.  Right now, I have them safe and warm in my garage with plenty of food and water.  My daughter plays with them, so they are acclimated with people and very loving.  My little boy is severely allergic to cats so I can not keep them.  I have begged no kill shelters to take them...I am at a loss and feel quite defeated.  If you know of anyone in the North Georgia area that would love these kitties, please, please, please, I beg you to let me know. Thank you all for helping, much love!!!

Kevin's Grandmother's Goulash.......

This is what's for dinner :)

Weather!

I haven't posted what the weather looks like here in awhile, so I thought I would..LOL :)

Fall :)

Good Morning!
Today is Tuesday, and there was a little chill in the air:)
It was red, white and blue day at school today.  It was cute seeing all the kids so colorful at school.  My little boy knows, the Pledge of Allegiance by heart, I am so proud!
I have started decorating for fall, this is my fireplace.  Do you see those scarecrows standing on the ground, my MIL gave me those ...oh, how I adore scarecrows.  The ones sitting on my mantel I got at the dollar store, pretty good deal, huh?  I like to think of these scarecrows part of Fred's family...LOL.

You don't have to read on, the rest is me just writing about my son's allergy, I sometimes need to write about it, it helps me......

On another note, after I pack my son's lunch, I look over all the ingredients on everything, maybe three or five times, and then when I am home, I run it all through my head again, then sometimes panic sets in thinking I may have missed something.  Everytime the phone rings I jump.....Everyday I pick my son up from school is an accomplishment for both of us...I drive my son to school, and pick him up..I am sometimes in my car up to two hours a day, do to traffic and lines and buses and such.  You see, he is in Kindergarten and much too young to administer the Epi Pen if he needs it.  The buss can be the most unsafe place for him, peanut butter flying every where......when he is older, and can administer his own epi pen, Maybe he will be able to take the bus.  I don't mind driving him AT ALL, but he sees all the little kids on our street boarding the bus, and so wants to join them.  He understands why he can't. The Epi pen is with us at all times, it is with me until I walk him to the school doors, and then the nurse has another set for him when he enters the doors, he can never be without it, NEVER!!!  He wears a medic bracelet that has all this vital info on it....Grocery shopping is another adventure, I have to read every item's ingredients everytime.  This one bread I use to buy faithfully has now added a nut label, so now I have found another brand, Pepperidge Farm seems to be a great company that really caters to food allergies.  I had bought a hair treatment for my hair, this was awhile ago...and I could not read all the ingredients, (Now I carry a Magnifying glass with me)  I had to give the hair treatment away because it contained nut oil.....NUTS are in everything!

Monday!

I hope everyone is having a great Monday!
After this week of school, my kids are home for a week for Fall Break, YaY!
I have been putting out my Fall decor little by little.  I just adore Fall!

~~~~~
The Doctor's messed up on my son's immunization card, oh boy!!!
Little Kevin was not a happy camper, and neither was I!!
We got it all fixed, so that was good!
~~~~~

I haven't always been a SAHM....there was a time in my life I worked full time.  I was a single mom, and did both the Mom and Dad job.  Anyway, my dear, sweet Boss, that helped me in so many ways, passed away this weekend.  So many memories flooded in my head about years gone by.  I adored him and his wife so much.  I called his wife and told her how I wish I could be there. I always liked to think of them as the heart of San Clemente:)

That is all for now XO

Sunday Recipe!

I got this recipe from a friend of mine that she posted on Facebook!  It was a hit!

Banana Pudding Cake

Ingredients

1 box yellow cake mix (& ingredients to make cake)
2 box (small) instant banana pudding...

4 c milk
8 oz whipped topping
20 vanilla wafers, crushed
sliced bananas - use your own judgment

Directions:

1 Follow the direction on the cake mix box to prepare the actual cake. Prepare it in a 9 x 13" pan. When golden, remove from over and let cool for a few minutes.
2 When just slightly cooled, use the end of a wooden spoon (the handle end) to poke holes into the baked cake. Don't be shy; make the holes big enough for the pudding to seep into and go deep enough with the spoon that you hit the bottom of the pan.
3 Next, prepare your pudding mixture. Combine your 4 cups of milk and the instant pudding mix; whisk until fully combined and there are no lumps.
4 Now it's time to fill those holes! Pour the pudding mixture over the entire cake, taking care to get it into all your holes. Use the spoon to help really get it into the cake and spread evenly.
5 Refrigerate for about two hours... or until set. Top with whipped topping, crushed vanilla wafers and sliced banana! Serve and enjoy. (Refrigerate any leftovers.)

Wednesday!

I went grocery shopping yesterday, and as always, I read every label everytime. Something what was safe today, may not be safe tomorrow. I just go about my business at the store, never thinking anyone is ever watching me. After comparing Blueberry bars, I picked the Kellogs brand and put the other brand back. One was safe the other was not, and my sweet boy LOVES blueberry bars :) Then I was onto the cereal...I was finished with that isle and on to the next, as I was turning onto the next isle, a woman, called out to me..Miss??? Miss??? I stopped and looked at her and smiled, and she told me she had noticed me comparing items and told me that I had passed up a better deal on Blueberry bars....as soon as she said that, I could feel the tears well up in my eyes. Silly I know! People actually see me comparing items, and all the while, think I am trying to figure out the better price, the more healthy, etc....No one really realizes I am doing this to keep my child alive and safe. I explained to her, I had to read all ingredients to make sure it was a safe product for my child. We talked awhile and I shared my peanut story...and I could actually see tears well up in her eyes....she then said, "Bless your heart", I know she meant it, she hugged me and said she would keep me and my sweet boy in her prayers. I just wanted to share the compassion of someone I met picking out blueberry bars of all things. I may never see her again, but her hug and prayers meant so much to me :) Thank you kind lady!!
