Goulash sounds good. Different than I've seen before...potatoes and kidney beans instead of macaroni. Will have to try it. :)

Hi Diane :) Let me know if you try this recipe. It is a memory my husband has when he was very little, his Granny making him this for dinner.....I am sure there are many variations of this recipe. This recipe was printed in my husband's ancestry book my MIL put together... :) P.S. It is super easy...LOL..it is especially nice to make when I have LOTS of laundry to do, plus your home smells amazing :)

Thinking of you Julieann, and wondering how you're doing with little Kevin in school during the day!

It's so fun to find vintage recipes. I have seen them before where it says to 'add butter the size of an egg' or some similar thing. Fun!

Thanks for sharing the recipe :)
Always good eats at your house.

Take extra good care,
Jen

Dear Julieann,
Do you drain the kidney beans first? I say yes, DH says he doesn't think so. He remembers his Granny doing something similar.
Please help...we want it to be tasty, not an unplanned pizza night! LOL :)

You're an inspiration,
Jen

P.S. I think of you every time I see one of Fred's fam!

Hi Jen!!What a great question :) I loosely drained them...One time I made this, I bought the wrong kind of beans, they were spicey flavored, so I drained and rinsed them...LOL...other then that, I just drain them with the metal can lid, kind of like you do with a can of tuna. I don't pour them in a colander or anything, just drain them from the can...I hope that helped :)

P.S. Thank you for your kind words :) Fred says hi!
