1 1/2 pounds lean ground beef
1 cup chopped onion
1 cup chopped green pepper
1 garlic clove, minced
1/2 teaspoon dried oregano
1/2 cup water
1/8 teaspoon hot pepper sauce
1 can (15 ounces) tomato sauce
1 envelope spaghetti sauce mix ( I did not use this, I just used spaghetti sauce, in substitute of the tomato sauce and packet)
1 cup milk
1 Tablespoon vegetable oil
2 eggs
1 cup all purpose flour
1/2 teaspoon of salt
6 to 8 ounces sliced mozzarella or Monterrey Jack cheese
1/2 Cup Parmesan cheese
In large skillet, brown the round beef. Drain well. Stir in onion, green pepper, garlic, oregano, water and hot peeper sauce, tomato sauce and spaghetti mix; simmer for 10 minutes, stirring occasionally. Set aside. In small mixing bowl, combine milk, oil and eggs; beat 1 minute at medium speed. Add flour and salt; beat 2 minutes at medium speed until smooth. Pour hot meat mixture into a an ungreased ovenproof skillet or baking pan. Top with sliced cheese, pour batter over cheese, covering filling completely. Sprinkle with Parmesan cheese Bake at 400' for 25-30 minutes or until puffed and deep golden brown. Serve immediately. Yield 10 servings.
