Monday's Thought!

What has happened to some people, and mothers especially.  Where is the compassion.  When did a peanut butter sandwich become more important than a child's life???
Please help me understand this?

I don't get it, I really don't get it :(

I have a granddaughter with a peanut allergy, not as severe as your son's.
I really believe some people only worry about themselves and not how their actions effect others. Sorry your family is going through this.
When my son was younger, they had a peanut free table to sit at, would that help or is your son affected by the smell too? Cheryl

I don't get it either. My kids aren't allergic but I am. I have had people try to get me to eat things that they know will kill me - to put it bluntly. "Oh one bite won't hurt." Or "It is all in your head."

Honestly, people amaze me at times and not always in a good way.

I can see both sides of it. Your son is very sensitive to peanuts, etc. But then you get that child who will only eat a peanut butter and jelly sandwich and that mom worries that the child won't eat anything if he can't have that sandwich.

Very difficult for everyone.

Thank you all for the comments :)
Ann, I did not know you had food allergies, it's a tough road, and I am sorry!

In reply to the mom worring about her child not eating because he won't eat anything but peanut butter at lunch time, the thing is, her child won't die, if he doesn't get his peanut butter at school lunch..Peanuts can kill my son..there is a huge differance..did that make sense.

Also, I in no way shape or form ask anyone from refraining in what they want to pack for there kids, my son navigates around everyone in this nut filled world, it would be just nice for maybe a little understanding and compassion. Until you have seen your child's eyes light up because there is a birthday in the class at the beautiful cupcakes and knowing he can never have one, your heart truly breaks...it is tough.

I hope no one takes anything I say as being mean, but I will never sugar coat what peanuts and treenuts can do t someone that is allergic. They don't just get sick, they could die.
