Breakfast Casserole *NEW*

This is the breakfast casserole I am going to make for Christmas morning--it is a new to me recipe--and it looks good--and it is pretty much like the one I have made and listed on my sidebar.

INGREDIENTS (Nutrition)
1 pound ground pork sausage
1 teaspoon mustard powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
4 eggs, beaten
2 cups milk
6 slices white bread, toasted and cut into cubes
8 ounces mild Cheddar cheese, shredded

DIRECTIONS
Crumble sausage into a medium skillet. Cook over medium heat until evenly brown; drain.
In a medium bowl, mix together mustard powder, salt, eggs and milk. Add the sausage, bread cubes, and cheese, and stir to coat evenly. Pour into a greased 9x13 inch baking dish. Cover, and chill in the refrigerator for 8 hours, or overnight.
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).
Cover, and bake 45 to 60 minutes. Uncover, and reduce temperature to 325 degrees F (165 degrees C). Bake for an additional 30 minutes, or until set.

This looks yummy! I think I will make something like it for Christmas morning for my dear husband. He will love it. Me I am not a big egg eater.

I want to wish you and your family a wonderful, blessed and Merry Christmas!

Oh this looks good. I am going to make it while we are all home for Christmas break. Christmas morning we always have cinnamon rolls that I make the day before then just pop in the oven in the morning.

This one sounds like a keeper... but I have to find a recipe to make my own sausage. Pork sausage - or ground pork - is just about unheard of in this country and I MISS IT!
Christmas this year is due to hit 90 degrees and I'm already plannin' on banana smoothies for brekkie and cold food for the day.

Have a very Merry Christmas, and enjoy your breakfast!
