Show and Tell

Kelli is hosting her Show and Tell---which I just love. Thank you Kelli. So make sure you hop on over to her blog and look at all the wonderful links there, and leave your own.

My Show and Tell, is a pillow. When my son was 5, he had asked me for 5 dollars for school---he said all the kids are going shopping in the school store for Christmas. It was already wrapped when he brought it home, and he set it under the tree for me----it was the most beautiful gift:) It is a pillow that stays on my bed always--and whenever I look at it, I remember the little boy that I use to carry. When he was tired from Karate, he asked me to carry him to the car---as I was holding him, I said, "Tony, pretty soon I am not going to be able to carry you", and he said, "That is okay Mommy, because when I get big, I will carry you!!!"

My son is getting big, he is 15 now--I tell him this story, does he remember it? I am not sure, but it makes us both smile:)

Wonderful (HOT) Wednesday

Good evening. Kevin had called me to tell me that the phone guy is having trouble with the phone lines in his new office, so it would be awhile and not to make an elaborate dinner. Then Tony called me to ask if he could stay over at his friends---so now it was just Alexis and I, and of course Little Kevin. Alexis was in complete disbelief when I told her it was just going to be leftovers--oh, she was not happy..LOL. So what did I do? I made some noodles with Parmesan cheese--or *stinky* cheese as she calls it---she was happy--and I was actually happy that such a small gesture could make such a difference, and my little one so happy.

Some of my grass has died so Kevin had sprinkled some grass seed--so I was watering it a little bit today---and told Alexis to get in her bathing suit--and I watered the grass as she ran through it---I took pictures of it too--I will post them up tomorrow--Little Kevin sat in his bouncer in the shade, while my doggy ran for his life not to get wet---because the hose would accidentally squirt him if he got to close...LOL

I cleaned my birdy cage--they sure can make a mess. I have to vacuum under their cage everyday---or I will have feathers and seed everywhere. They sing all day too. I washed all of Little Kevin's clothes today--did I mention, he is rolling over--and over and over....I layed him on the floor on his blanket--and turned around and bam he was already flipped...he sure is getting really good with his neck muscles too.

School starts next Tuesday--Tony starts at 7:40 and Alexis starts at 7:45--Now, I am going to figure out what time I need to be up, to wear I can get everything done nicely in the morning and not have every one rushing--I don't like rushing or running late--and I am sure my kids don't like it either--I like things calm and organized. Breakfast needs to be done, and lunches and snacks need to be made--clothes picked out, etc....all, this while trying to keep Little Kevin happy too. I know I will set into a routine soon after--and hopefully smoothly:)

The dishwasher is going and I will unload it first thing tomorrow morning--I have a load of towels to do too----I also need to get new back packs for the kids, but I was hoping Kevin would be home early one night so I could run to the Walmart without baby Kevin--The Walmart has been crazy busy lately---and it is hard sometimes to maneuver the cart with Little Kevin in it--I am short so it is hard to see over him in the cart, and I tend to run over people sometimes...j/k:)

Chicken Wings

When I was at Costco yesterday, along with the salt and pepper grinders--I found chicken wings---my family just loves chicken wings--I do to, but I can't have them right now, the hot sauce is not good while nursing. I don't deprive my family though:) Chicken wings are very hard to find in the grocery store, it seems that all the restaurants buy them out which can be a bit frustrating--but we got the chicken wings before the restaurants did LOL.

Frank's Hot Sauce is a very important ingredient----other hot sauces do not compare--

This is what I do, I foil line a huge pan and rub oil all over the foil, so nothing sticks and very easy cleanup. Can you see the big package of chicken.

This is what the wing looks like--I cut the little nub(the part by my finger) off the wing and then cut the wing in half between the joints

They look like this cut up--I don't use the little nub from the wing Just the two bigger parts.
After all the chicken is cut up I rub some oil on them and cook them in the oven at 375 for about an hour, I check on them every now and then and move them around. While they are cooking I cut up some celery. After about an hour of cooking they are done. I have cooked them longer but then they aren't tender and are kind of tough to eat, so I like them moist and juicy.
I melt some butter and then add the hot sauce and mix it all up in a big bowl

Dipping a few wings at a time
Then place them in a pretty dish--I sometimes line the dish with some romaine or red leaf--but this time I just stayed simple.
Here they are all coated with the hot sauce--if there is any hot sauce left in the other dish, I drizzle it over the chicken
I serve the chicken wings with the celery and ranch dressing---I often make my own ranch dressing too. A lot of people like Blue Cheese Dressing--which I think is sooo yummy, but my family likes Ranch instead, so Ranch is what I serve:)

Salt and Pepper!!

Oh, this is so exciting for me. I took my Grandmother shopping today, and we went to the Costco---oh was I excited when I saw these---->

What are they you ask? They are sea salt and pepper grinders and they are BIG ones too. I am use to getting the little itty bitty ones at the grocery store for the same amount I paid for these--3.89 each--woohooo---oh my husband is going to be so happy with these too:)

10Who can find a virtuous woman? for her price is far above rubies.
11The heart of her husband doth safely trust in her, so that he shall have no need of spoil.
12She will do him good and not evil all the days of her life.
13She seeketh wool, and flax, and worketh willingly with her hands.
14She is like the merchants' ships; she bringeth her food from afar.
15She riseth also while it is yet night, and giveth meat to her household, and a portion to her maidens.
16She considereth a field, and buyeth it: with the fruit of her hands she planteth a vineyard.
17She girdeth her loins with strength, and strengtheneth her arms.
18She perceiveth that her merchandise is good: her candle goeth not out by night.
19She layeth her hands to the spindle, and her hands hold the distaff.
20She stretcheth out her hand to the poor; yea, she reacheth forth her hands to the needy.
21She is not afraid of the snow for her household: for all her household are clothed with scarlet.
22She maketh herself coverings of tapestry; her clothing is silk and purple.
23Her husband is known in the gates, when he sitteth among the elders of the land.
24She maketh fine linen, and selleth it; and delivereth girdles unto the merchant.
25Strength and honour are her clothing; and she shall rejoice in time to come.
26She openeth her mouth with wisdom; and in her tongue is the law of kindness.
27She looketh well to the ways of her household, and eateth not the bread of idleness.
28Her children arise up, and call her blessed; her husband also, and he praiseth her.
29Many daughters have done virtuously, but thou excellest them all.
30Favour is deceitful, and beauty is vain: but a woman that feareth the LORD, she shall be praised.
31Give her of the fruit of her hands; and let her own works praise her in the gates.

Laundry Day

Happy Saturday! This is what I will be doing today--I got a little behind this week---that is okay, sometimes I like a good old fashioned laundry day.

I saw this on the food network the other day--and it looked so yummy and easy--and plus my family loves pot pie---->
I am going to tweak the recipe a bit--I will let you know how it turned out--maybe I will take pictures too.

Appetizer

Good evening!! I am making spaghetti and meatballs tonight for dinner. When Kevin comes home from work I will start my water for the pasta--in the mean time everyone can have some of this appetizer. Italian salsa with baked cheese and garlic toasts. I just sliced up two tomatoes, put two garlic cloves in a garlic press, added some canola oil and salt and pepper to taste. The cheese toast are in the baked goods section of the grocery store. Enjoy!!!

Sweet Tea Anyone?

My son is a teenager, my son is 15--My son has a never ending stomach---he can drink a gallon of milk a day---I keep telling him to drink water---so I made some sweet tea today for him to drink. I bought a jug of apple juice last night, and it is gone--so let's see how long this jug of tea lasts...LOL.

Wednesday's Happenings

I did absolutely no cleaning today---We got up and spent the day with my Grandmother---she is 88 today. Happy Birthday Bobby. We call her Bobby because she used to wear bobby pins in her hair--and we thought that meant her name was Bobby--because they were Bobby's pin...LOL.

I got home rather late---I got the pork chops on the stove, made butter beans to go along with those and a fresh green salad.

Kevin Jr. Is tucked in bed and so is Alexis. zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

I did stop at the grocery store--I needed some diapers--I got pampers--I also needed some bleach and a few odds and ends.

Tomorrow--I have housework to do--which includes the bleach I just purchased---Cleaning and laundry:) I will post all about it tomorrow.

It was cooler today--YAY---I just don't like the heat---I mean, I don't mind it warm--but Hot--icky...LOL. It is rather chilly tonight, so the A/C is off.

Well, that is all for now, I must clean up the kitchen and sparkle my sink and get ready for bed---and maybe sneak a few blogs in.

XOXO

It was a busy day today---will post more later xoxox

What I am up too.....

I made a poll and put it in my sidebar---and I see the majority of you like to read about my day to day cleaning adventures---well that is good, because I like to write about it...LOL. My favorite part of my blog are the picture posts, just because I like to go back and look at my kids, meals, house, etc. So if you have not yet, you can vote on my poll that is in my sidebar:)

Here are the tomatoes from my garden--and I have to say they are the last of them---those two little plants gave me a ton of tomatoes--and the really sad part of it is--my husband didn't like them..LOL---he said they were too sweet. So I pruned the plant already. Next summer, I will plant some that aren't sweet, any suggestions??? I went to Wal-Mart this weekend and we got some googly eyes--so Alexis and I are going to have a craft day with these--they were .97 cents. we are going to make some funny people or animals.
This is my doggy--he turned 3 years old last week--Happy Birthday Axel!!!! 4 pounds of trouble...lol
I am done with Alexis's closet--this is one side---dresses, skirts, skorts, jeans etc.... There are some things that I am not hanging up--I have a few track pants and such--that will be folded and put on her shelf.

This is the other side--whew-----it is as organized as I can keep it--I like to do like colors, sleeve length---but it is hard to keep up with Alexis pulling things down--so I am happy with this. (You can click the pictures to enlarge)
Her shoes. Why so many tennis shoes? Her school won't allow opened toe shoes, for safety--so, she can't wear her sandals--So I bought a bunch of different kind of tennis shoes, so she doesn't have to wear the same pair everyday. She can wear her sandals at home :)
...and here is my princess!! I can't remember if I mentioned, she had her physical and she measured 45 inches tall and 42 pounds--the ped, said she is tall and skinny.
This is a wall in her room---we do a lot of crafts--her room is decorated on all four walls. I am looking for another latch hook to do---I latch hooked that bear on her wall. I am not sure what I want to latch hook, but I am itching to do one...LOL.

I had to wake up and get ready extra early today---I had to get Tony to registration by 8:00---we got that all done, and his schedule is changed--he starts at 7:40---woohoo. I also did my grocery shopping---Kevin wanted London Broil on the grill--so that is what we will have--along with fresh corn (Jodi it was 5 for 2.00 today) Baked potatoes--salad--and all kinds of pasta was on sale, I was thinking of making some kind of pasta salad or mac n cheese--not sure yet. It is HOT--I broke down and turned the air on---oh it is so nice--but I am going to turn it off soon---the money it takes to keep it on, makes me ill.....things are so expensive here in California---

Since today is Monday, I am going to make a cleaning list of all the things I want to get done---if I don't finish they will be added to next weeks list. Well, that is all for now---I will be by your blogs xoxox
