Rainy Day Monday

Today is Monday, my children are home, but my dear husband has to work. His birthday was yesterday and it was a very nice day. We were going to go out to dinner, but I have a hard time going out to dinner and spending so much money on food that I can cook at home for cheaper and much better--plus I am a better waitress to my family (giggles) Anyway it is what my husband wanted to do--->UNTIL-----> The sale adds came out and had THICK t-bone steaks on sale---so I went to the store and bought three t-bones, shrimp, huge baking potatoes, corn on the cob, garlic bread and made a wonderful green salad----I don't eat red meat, so what ever meat was left goes in hubby's lunch. I am more of a fish/tofu kinda gal:) I made a chocolate cake similar to the one I posted here a few posts back. I had taken a picture of Alexis and Kevin had mentioned that he really loved this certain picture, so I went to Walmart and bought a really nice frame, and had enlarged this picture of Alexis, put it in the frame and put on the frame *Daddy's Girl* It is for his desk at his office--he really liked it.

On Saturday, it was 86 degrees, so instead of making bagels, Kevin and I took Alexis to the yogurt shop and we sat outside and watched the tourists--Tony was with his best friend. Then we came home and Kevin took Alexis to the beach, I stayed home--I love the beach and getting tan--but being very pregnant, I passed this time--there will be plenty of time for me to go to the beach, after the baby is born. Sand, heat and a big belly just did not appeal to me..(LOL). They played in the water and swung on the swing set and played in the sand. Then it was time to come home.

I went and bought 3 more house plants and some cute pots for my window sill. I also bought a bigger pot for my amaryllis, that is outside. Everything was purchased at the .99 cents store:)

These pictures were taken this morning, but as you can see, it is not like it was on Saturday, it is a rainy day today--I love the rain. Perfect for me to make my bagels, that I didn't do on Saturday.
This is outside my front door---Rain:)
This is Alexis's bed--she has a bunk bed, so now, I have to find a pink bedspread for the top bunck. There is a quilt up there now, that is nice and it holds all her stuffed animals. This is a wall in her room--we like to be creative...on another wall we made balloons, that turned out cute too--I will take more pictures. I have a lot to do today, I hope you all have a Warm and Dry and blessed Monday!! xoxox I will be by to visit you today:)

Monday's To do's
Make bagel's
Laundry
vacuum
Toilets
Dust my bedroom
clean birdie cage
prep dinner
and so on, and so on, and so on......

Hi Julieann,
Sounds like such a nice weekend... two things I miss so much about California: yogurt shops and the BEACH!! :-)

The birthday dinner you made for your husband sounds delicious, too. You are so right, we are definitely better waitresses for our families, the service is so much nicer!! :-) For me, the problem is that I am just not the COOK that I want to be... I'm afraid I don't have that talent, and so I just don't enjoy it at all. So, I find myself really enjoying the blogs of ladies who DO enjoy cooking and do it well, like yours!! It's starting to inspire me to branch out and try new things (slowly!!)

Have a lovely day!! :-)

The Birthday dinner sounds yummy. I always try to fix my hubby a nice meal on his birthday too.

Ahh you are making me wish for summer with all your warm temps. We have about 6" of snow here and this week will be the first time it has reached above freezing all month. I just keep telling myself that spring is just around the corner lol.

Hi Julieann. Thanks for dropping by earlier. I edited the post and attached the hyperlinks to the recipes for the items on my menu. I hope that you had a good and productive day. I look forward to seeing how your bagels look. I might have to give them a try and make some myself.
