Aprons, Aunt Bee and Other Fun Stuff

Wow, it is Thursday already--yay:) There is no school Friday or Monday, and Sunday is my Husband's birthday--so this should be a wonderful long weekend. Here are pictures of two of my aprons. The first one is my Christmas apron and the second is an everyday apron---if you were to knock on my door at pretty much any given time you would find one of these on me, over a dress:)
Here is a favorite cookbook of mine, I have had it for almost 12 years, and have tried so many recipes. It is a good thing I bought it, I am married to a southern man, so this book has recipes he just loves.

This is a recipe I made last night to go with my southern fried chicken which I soaked in buttermilk first and then breaded. This is a potato recipe called *Nip It In The Bud Spuds* and let me just say they are so good!!! I omitted the onions last night, but either way they are yummy. (Click on picture to enlarge to see recipe)
This is what the finished product looks like--you can even bake them longer so they get golden brown, or even top with cheese- :0)

I had a picture of the bagels I have made, but I can not seem to locate them, hmmm, anyway this is the recipe I use--very EASY and very good---->Bagel Recipe.
*note-I do not use the poppy seeds in the bagel recipe--mine are just plain

As for cleaning my parts of my stove/oven--I soak the stove parts in dish soap and water, and then use a S.O.S. pad---as for the rack in the oven I spray it with Fume Free Oven Off , outside and rinse them with a hose. I usually clean the inside of the oven with Fume Free Oven Off too--but this is going to have to wait until after the baby is born. I also wipe down the whole outside of the oven with windex to make it shine:)

Well, that is all for now. I hope everyone has a Very Nice Thursday!! xoxo

Looks like you had a wonderful Valentines dinner! I love your aprons. I just started wearing them a couple of months ago because I noticed I was getting more and more flour on me :) Your stove is so shiney! I have black appliances and have to use windex a lot too.

Hi Julieann,
Your potatoes look delicious and your aprons, so cute!! Aprons are yet another item on my long list of things I want to sew!! :-)

I bet you are so ready to meet your baby boy, too, isn't it exciting?! Have you picked out a name, yet?

I was like your daughter, I hadn't seen snow before we moved here just a couple of years ago. I'm still a Californian, through and through!! :-)

Have a great day!!

Thank you for visiting (& posting) on my blog.

I didn't know there was a Mayberry cookbook! Goodness, I'll have to see if our library has it on the shelf. I love the show so I'm sure I'd love the cookbook.

I have a collection of vintage aprons but rarely wear them - I mainly wear the tried and true everyday number. That needs to change!
