You know Fall officially starts when Fred comes out!
Sweet Fred has been guarding my home for over a decade...in Georgia and California. I bought him in Cali on a shopping trip with my grandmother....I just had to have him.
I just love my scarecrow :)
I do play a game on Facebook...whenever you see one of Fred's relatives you must snap a picture and tag me so I can see. It is fun and makes everyone smile and we all need to smile more.
If you would like to play, just friend me on Facebook :) Let me know you read my blog.
Today was the first morning here in Georgia where it was quite cool in the morning.
LOVE IT!!!!
Fall is and will always be my favorite season. There is just something about it...pumpkins, hot chocolate, leaves falling, crisp air, sweaters, apples, baking, pumpkin spice everything...LOL...PUMPKIN SPICE LATTE AT STARBUCKS!!!! Woohoo!!
We were supposed to go out to dinner tonight but it is going to be a quiet evening at home...we were going to meet up with friends with kids too. Kevin isn't feeling well today and I had to go pick him up from school today, he is now all warm and cozy and resting.
He kept telling me about the coughing going on in the classroom..YIKES!
I had made homemade chicken soup this week so it hit the spot perfectly today for my sweet boy. Recipe:
One roasted chicken from the last night's dinner.
Pull all the meat off the bones.
Boil the bones with celery, onion and carrots..add garlic, pepper..very little salt to taste.
Simmer the heck out of this concoction...LOL Trust me your home will smell like Thanksgiving!
Drain the broth, it should be nice and dark..a beautiful bone broth.
Set the broth aside and sauté a little more celery and onion, until soft, add chicken and then poor in the broth..heat through. then add yo ur (cooked)noodles, I used wide egg noodles...…. Voila, chicken noodle soup, kids :)
I hope you all have a glorious Friday and a wonderful weekend.
Stay warm and start decorating for Fall..it is never too early to start :)
XO
