Tuesday Twos!

Name two things you are grateful for today?
I am grateful to be able to stretch in the morning.
I am grateful for the sun on my shoulders as I ran today!

Say something that you are grateful for every morning and it will start your day off with a positive outlook and a grateful heart.

Also, if you start to feel down, go to a mirror quick and smile big!!!
it helps tremendously
Until tomorrow...

Saturday! Springtime 🤍

Hello Friends!
Hope you are doing well this beautiful Saturday!
It is supposed to be about 80' degrees today so I am hoping to get a little pool time in, plus a good run and some gardening.
I also am going to do my usual Costco run and Kroger.
Plan my menu for the week, and read my new book about taking care of succulents.  I also want to swish the toilets and run the vacuum around the home.
Work on Summer Bucket List!
Finish the day up with Pizza!

What is on your Saturday to do's today?

Prayer Conundrum and Summer Bucket List

Do you ever sit down down to eat and there is that awkward silence of who is going to say the prayer?  When we have a full house now, I will search the internet and put together a sweet and endearing prayer that goes with the the theme of the gathering and place it on the table.  That way who ever is going to say the prayer has backup just in case they need some help.  It comes easy to me to say the blessing, but I want everyone to be able to say it too.  I am also a bit old fashioned and think who sits at the head of the table should say it.  I do understand, my husband gets uncomfortable, so we pass the saying of the prayer to everyone in due time.

Here is a little prayer, I printed out and put on my wall in my dinning room.  I have another one that I will share too, in  another post

The weather is quite lovely today, the sun is shining and the flowers are standing tall.  The warmth on my shoulders feels so nice, vitamin D does so much for the soul.  It brightens up my mind and makes me feel happy.  I used to love dark and dreary days, and now as I get older, not so much, I love the warm days, and with the that said...Summer Bucket List is coming....super excited to share my summer list and see what I want to do and what I actually do..tee hee.

Be blessed and until I my next post,

Wednesday Confabulation

There is that old saying, is it better to be right or kind?  As I get older, I am learning that it is better to be kind.  Being right can make your mind fester.  I have realized is if I just let go and let God and let things really go, I feel so much better in the long term, I don't lose sleep when I am kind, but I do if I argue or try and be right.  Just my little Wednesday tid bit for the day.

It was a beautiful day today and I ran my 3 miles and did tons of Peloton.  I have a new wrought iron stick to hang my bird feeders.  When I get them up I will show you.  My husband laid mulch too...Our yard is looking rather nifty and tidy looking.

I also made my lavaine tonight....so,. sourdough bread will be made by Friday, tee hee!! I am excited, I love baking bread.

I am trying to organize my home and make it nice, never ending project, correct.  I also enjoy listening to podcasts as i tidy and clean my home.

SCHOOL IS OUT FOR THE SUMMER!!
woohoo!!!

Be blessed and I will talk with you soon.
Mwauh!!

Weekly To Do's

Good Morning!!

Happy Tuesday, it is a new day and a tad bit of a drizzly day.  I am getting my eyes checked today and getting my contact lenses.  I am grateful.

I am making the Teriyaki Chicken tonight with Rice. The chicken is happily marinating already in the fridge. It is in my menu plan in the post below this one,  titled Weekly Menu Plan ⬇⬇⬇

So, my weekly schedule is somewhat similar to my above list as I try and do something everything everyday.  I am not churning butter, but I am creating something.
I usually do my ironing at night, while everyone is settling down, I put a podcast in or listen to a an audible.

I completely enjoy menu planning and creating to do lists!!

So I usually like to run errands on Tuesday, because I like to take inventory on everything I need on Monday and wipe down the refrigerator.

Laundry is almost everyday.
Sunday is my Church day but it is not always rest and God knows my heart about that.
Have a glorious day!!

Extra Post About Cali

We took a flight out to California to see my Dad.
We took first class and it was so nice.  We snagged them at a great price.

They offer everything to you, while your up, up, and away.
I was filled with so much anxiousness that is was a nice distraction.  My husband did it that way.  My father is aging and I know he is not who he once was.  His memory is not always the best anymore.  He knows I am his daughter, and he knows he loves me.

We flew in a Friday evening,  We left rainy Georgia and landed in rainy California!

Both states were cold and wet.
We stayed at a very nice hotel, it had two tvs and a gym, which I was able to use in my free time to keep my anxiety down.

We woke the next morning and it was still quite drizzly, not as bad and it was cold.

I woke up, brushed my teeth and went down to the gym.  I could not sleep at all, so I put my restlessness into a workout at about 4;30.  Which actually my internal clock was 7:30.
I did the elliptical, some toning and yoga.
Came back to our room and showered and got rady for the day.

My husband and I went to The Black Bear Diner, and it was quite charming!!
It seemed like this restaurant was out of place in Orange County, California and would be more appreciated in Georgia.  It was not busy at all which made me sad, as it was such a cute place to have breakfast and a great cup of coffee.

We then finished breakfast and went to Staterbrothers, which was the closest grocery store near my father's home.  I also know this was the store he grocery shopped at.  So it was neat to go in a store he had probably walked into hundred's of times.  I went to pick up his favorite cheesecake.  I was successful.

With my heart racing with anticipation and excitement, we got our cheesecake and headed to my dad's house.

We pulled into my father's neighborhood and there was his home.  A home I had been to so many times before.  It was familiar but different at the same time.

My Dad is not doing well and I just had to see him.  I did.  He knew I was his daughter and that he loved me.

I spent the earlier part of Saturday with my Dad.
He then said he was tired and wanted to sleep, so we left so he could sleep.
We didn't know what to do, so we went to a movie.  We saw the movie, 65.  Very good movie.
We then went to a restaurant that I used to love so much.  The Claim Jumper.  Well, it has either changed or I have,  either way, it was not the beloved restaurant I had remembered.
I don't have a love for California, but I do love my father.
So I had to see him  This was the fifth try and I did it.  The pandemic had put major obstacles in my trying to see my Dad through the past couple of years.
I will treasure my visit with my Dad.
I love my dad and was grateful for my hug.  My Dad had always been my rock.

We had to get home, so we left on Sunday.

Before we arrived at the airport we stopped and had breakfast at Golden Corral

Then on a beautiful Sunday we went back home.  The weather was lovely  It was surreal.  I am not going to go into detail about my father at the moment, but He is my Dad and I love him dearly.  He had to at times take on the role of Mother and Father since my mother was not present..

Some other photos.

The hotel we stayed at offered a cute little continental Breakfast downstairs:

I will cherish this visit with all my heart,
My Dad is my Rock and has always been such an amazing person.  He has always been an inspiration to me and I love him dearly.
