Chicken Bwak Bwak and Salad

 Good evening!!

Happy Thursday my people!

I hope you are having a glorious week.

Tonight was Chicken BWAK BWAK!!  I have made this dish several times.

First served is the salad...loaded with all sorts of veggies...fresh avocado is added along with shredded cheese!!

Next, is the entree!

Super easy, just egg noodles and leftover shredded chicken...in this dish, I added mushrooms that I had on hand.

You can even put some Parmesan cheese on it...scrumptious :)

Salt and pepper to taste !!

Good Morning!

These pictures were taken a couple days ago..I was snapping pictures while I was cooking dinner :)
The above picture is my steamer at work...Broccoli going !
I have talked about this before, I think many times, but I am staying away from canned foods.  I buy fresh as much as I can...Now, granted, my hubby came shopping with me and bought every "Glory" veggie they had..which is fine......if that is what he wants, he can have that:)  He works soooo hard, so a few canned veggies that he wants to eat does not bother me at all.

Garden salad, that I always make...LOL...how many times have you seen my salads...:)   I do not put the tomatoes or the Avocados or cheese on the big bowl of salad, I keep those on the side...and sprinkle them on as I serve.  That way I can save the leftover salad, and it won't go bad as quick.  Plus I don't want to waste cheese.

Salad all ready to serve:)

I make Chicken Bwak-Bwak a lot....It is a favorite and oh, so simple.  Shredded chicken mixed with egg noodles and a little butter......Some like Parmesan cheese sprinkled on the to, some just a little salt and pepper.  it is a great dish to use leftover chicken.

Sorry the picture below did not come out so good, my camera was not cooperating...LOL...

I had a busier then normal last three days, so I have a lot to do around the home.....Cleaning day for me.  It is a cloudy rainy day...can't get better than that.

Last night's dinner, was Blackened Tiliapia, Steamed Rice and Broccoli and Salad.  Saturday was Grilled Pork Chops and grilled Corn, mashed Potatoes and a Salad.  Friday we went out to eat at Golden Corral and then did a big shopping trip at Costco......I think it was Thursday we had the Bwak- Bwak
.

Roasted Chicken!

I roasted a chicken yesterday..it was a nice size chicken too.

Do you remember
Fly Lady's Rubber Chicken?  If you click on the link, the rubber chicken recipe is about midway down the page.  Fly lady has helped me a lot in the past 12 or so years....I take her ideas and incorporate them into my own.  So today in honor of the rubber chicken, I am going to take the rest of the meat off the bones and make another chicken dish :)  Last night we had roasted chicken with all the fixings...I had an extremely busy day yesterday, it was so out of the ordinary...LOL..Anyway, a roasted chicken is super easy to make.  I now have quite a bit leftover so I will take the meat off and either make a chicken casserole or Chicken Bwak-Bwak(Shredded chicken mixed with egg noodles and a little butter).  I really love to make chicken 'n'dumplings, (I love the dumplings) so that may be a possibility.  I do not eat any kind of meat anymore...I used to not eat beef and pork, and now I have just given up all of it.....BUT, I make everything for my family ..I do not push my non eating meat view on them.  Just never cared for it much.  I love my veggies though :)

Okay, so that is my dinner plan for tonight:)  What is yours?

Menu Plans:)

Thanksgiving is almost here. Are you ready? Are you cooking? Turkey?

I thought I would blog a little bit about my menu this week. Over the weekend, I made a pork roast, and I still have a considerable amount left. I planned it that way. I bought the roast knowing It would make two dinners.

I also roasted a bunch of chicken, one for dinner that way and another in a more creative fashion:)

Mondays Dinner:

Pulled Pork with BBQ sauce
Fresh bread to go with the pork
Steamed Broccoli
Mashed Potatoes
Salad

Tuesday's Dinner:

Chicken Bwak Bwak
(Leftover chicken cut up in bite size pieces or pulled apart, whatever works for you, then added to egg noodles with butter:)
Salad
and a steamed veggie

So, those are my first two nights of dinner. Using two leftover dishes, to make two completely different dishes.

The spice/herb rub I put on my chicken was a combination of:

Paprika
Garlic powder
Onion Powder
Poultry seasoning
Thyme
Chili Powder
Cayenne powder
Salt and pepper

I eyeball the mixture, using lots of paprika to a smidge of the cayenne pepper
I mix it all together and rub it all over the chicken with a little bit of veggie oil I get under the skin too. I also learned a new tip, I prick the chicken with a fork to let the flavors seep into the meat:)

I do a lot of experimenting, I have used all different kinds of oils, I have used butter...meat tenderizer. If I use something with a lot of salt, I omit regular salt. It is all what flavors you like.

.

Do you recognize this menu?

Do recognize this Menu...LOL?

Waffle House and Cracker Barrel, nothing says you are in the south then these two restaurants:) I remember the very first time Kevin took me to a Waffle House....and you are sitting in the booth looking out the window at another Waffle House Catty Corner to the one you are at, just as full with people!
It was quite an experience, and a very different experience for this California girl...BUT, I loved it!! I love the South and Kevin and I hope to one day make it our home again. We will be visiting Georgia again real soon:)

How is your cleaning going? Are you almost ready for Thanksgiving?
In my mind I am ready...but I still have a lot to do.
I have not gotten my Turkey yet. Have you? Are you going to make a turkey?

Time for a cup of coffee..I have Peppermint Mocha Creamer :)

I want to thank you all for visiting my blog.  I enjoy the comments very much, they are like the icing on the cake.  I just want to say to some that are sending me comments about promoting my blog, my answer is no.  I will not sell anything on my blog, I will not have ads on my blog, I will not have guest posts from people I know nothing about promoting something.  Everything I post about or promote is solely because I like it, I get nothing for it.  Once blogs go in that direction they have lost that special something that drew me to their blog in the first place.  One blog is all about links, she never posts anything without promoting something and wanting every one to click on the ads...Good for them, but not for me:)

Some blogs are even like highschool, you know they all go together...lol...I have even came upon bully blogs....

Anyway, I love all my visitors, and most everyone that comments have been the same commenters for years..even certain anonymous comments are from the same people..you are all so sweet XO XO :)

Are you all ready for fall?  Have you gotten your pumpkins yet..they are $3.88 at Walmart right now!

Wednesday !

It is the middle of the week, and I can already feel the change in the weather.  The mornings are starting to be cool, with warm afternoons.  The humidity has lightened up a lot.  At night you can hear the symphony of all the bugs and frogs at night.  Fall is coming and I am so thrilled to be able to enjoy it here in Georgia.  It sometimes seems surreal to me when I look at the map and see where I was and see where I am now.  Never in my dreams when I was younger did I think Georgia was a place I would end up...LOL.  I love Cali, don't get me wrong, it will always have a very special place in my heart and it is missed by all of us.....BUT, we do love it here so much.

I made extra chicken last night for dinner, so I would have some leftovers for tonight's dinner, I am going to make the famous Chicken Bwak-Bwak....It is a simple dish of shredded chicken and egg noodles..simple but very good.

I also picked up some hamhocks, so I am going to soak some beans for tomorrows dinner and add the hamhocks for flavor.

I bought some big Ball Jars to use in my pantry.  I am really trying to organize it in a good way.  Easy to see things and get to things.

I am also learning my way around here...I am not a fan of driving and I would rather not be the driver, but you have to do what you have to do.  I like my little circle here...the store, school and Tony's work are all around my neighborhood....the only thing I don't like is going on Highway 41 but I have to get to certain places so I have to use that road..... I do have a GPS that helps me tremendously:)

The Holidays are just around the corner and Fred will be making his appearance VERY soon...Yay!!!

Well, time for another cup of coffee...Have a wonderful day xox

Grocery Shopping 🛒

Happy Monday!!
It's almost Christmas time.
Scroll down a few posts and you will see my Christmas tree.
A lot of those ornaments were handmade by me :0)

Look at these beautiful groceries.
I am always so thankful to be able to buy my family awesome groceries and that I can pick and choose my stores.
It's the little things.
Also, more brands are taking food allergies seriously, so now we are having more and more food options and restaurant options also.....my son is thoroughly enjoying having choices...don't we all enjoy choices?

I still like to buy fruits and veggies bagged...less hands touching our food..everything still gets washed though .

My hubby loves his greens.  I have nice ham from Thanksgiving to add to these..I am saving the bone for Christmas.

Yummy radishes...I love those, they are a low carb veggie...and they are absolutely scrumptious roasted.  Google how to roast radishes.....it is so yummy

It is cold outside and coffee is brewing.

I am also happily wrapping the gifts, sending out Christmas cards and shopping!
In my next post I will share the Christmas cards I am sending out this year...they are so pretty.  Plus I put cute little Christmas stickers on the envelope.

Pictures and Jell-o

I saw this picture in the store and wanted to re-create it, so I did.....Mine is the second photo.  The first is courtesy of Joann's.

Next, my son had his braces rewired so his mouth is a bit sore. I made a big pot of soup and Jell-O!!!

Oh, if there is a memory I could attach to my child hood it would be Jell-O!!!

Today started out 55 degrees and it is warming up to 73 degrees.  Nice....
I changed course on my menu plan today and I am making Cream of Chicken over rice instead of Chicken Bwak Bwak.

I am making labels for the drink cups for my Birthday/Halloween party so everyone can write there name on the cup, so they don't get misxed up.

I will make sweet Tea and call it "Witches Sweet Brew"
and "Witches Unsweet Brew"
I am making worms and eyeballs
IE: Spaghetti and Meatballs.
I am so excited to kick off Decorating for Christmas after the last trick or treating knocks.
That tree is going up,
Pencil Pine!
