Happy Friday!

Straightened and cleaned the refrigerator today.

Now, remember, I have another fridge in the basement, so if you don't see something you like, it may be in the other fridge...LOL.

I had some fruit that wasn't getting eaten fast enough, so instead of letting it go bad, I froze some.  I have some blueberries and strawberries and grapes.  Perfect for smoothies.

Daddy is the one that buys the "fun" food.....:)

Here is my fruit drawer...I love to use lemons in my juicer..it makes everything taste better :)

It is a 3 day weekend and I am thrilled.  Everyone will be safe and sound at home with me~~~YaY!!!

New bag!

We did a "BIG" shopping at Walamart on Saturday and they had these bags on clearance..for $3.00......um, yes, I will take one...LOL.  I love bags and purses...and this is perfect for trips to the pool.....long days out, over nights...etc...I just like it and couldn't pass up $3.00 :)

Go to Walmart and get one :)

I have already had a battle with ants this morning.  You think you got rid of them, and then BAM, they show up in the oddest places.  They were coming out of a tiny hole from the bathroom from Kevin's room.....The other morning they were just scattered all over Tony's room.  The thing about these ants, is they BITE.  The bite isn't so bad, but it itches a lot after wards.  I know...I have been bitten 4 times now....and counting....LOL.  My kitchen is completely ant proofed...everything is in airtight containers....and such......

Oh...I am watching the weather channel and the poor news men are holding on to eachother for dear life trying to report the weather.......80 mile per hour winds, wow!!!!

I am following The Weather Channel, and I am praying for everyone's safety!  I was living in Georgia back when Katrina hit....oh, I remember those images:(  My dear friend at the time, was driving across country and got caught in it...and there was no gas for him anywhere......

Also, I had to pick up Tony from work today and it was POURING rain...You all know I am not a fan of driving, and this really tested me today...I did it though.  ::::whew::::

I don't think I will be sleeping much tonight following the weather......Please everyone stay as safe as you can !!!!!

I felt like making more things, but I stopped myself...LOL.

Wednesday !

  It is the middle of the week, and I can already feel the change in the weather.  The mornings are starting to be cool, with warm afternoons.  The humidity has lightened up a lot.  At night you can hear the symphony of all the bugs and frogs at night.  Fall is coming and I am so thrilled to be able to enjoy it here in Georgia.  It sometimes seems surreal to me when I look at the map and see where I was and see where I am now.  Never in my dreams when I was younger did I think Georgia was a place I would end up...LOL.  I love Cali, don't get me wrong, it will always have a very special place in my heart and it is missed by all of us.....BUT, we do love it here so much. 

I made extra chicken last night for dinner, so I would have some leftovers for tonight's dinner, I am going to make the famous Chicken Bwak-Bwak....It is a simple dish of shredded chicken and egg noodles..simple but very good.

I also picked up some hamhocks, so I am going to soak some beans for tomorrows dinner and add the hamhocks for flavor.

I bought some big Ball Jars to use in my pantry.  I am really trying to organize it in a good way.  Easy to see things and get to things.

I am also learning my way around here...I am not a fan of driving and I would rather not be the driver, but you have to do what you have to do.  I like my little circle here...the store, school and Tony's work are all around my neighborhood....the only thing I don't like is going on Highway 41 but I have to get to certain places so I have to use that road..... I do have a GPS that helps me tremendously:)

The Holidays are just around the corner and Fred will be making his appearance VERY soon...Yay!!!

Forgiveness

Sometimes it is very hard to forgive.  Your heart needs to forgive to go on and be happy.  Forgiving does not mean you have to let that person back in your life...but it releases you from the pain and bitterness that can build up.   I am sure we all have people in our lives that have hurt us.  I tend to forgive and move on......

If it be possible, as much as lieth in you, live peaceably with all. Rom 12:18

Pastor Rick once told me, that some people, God knows, can not be reconciled with, they will twist everything you say.  Forgive them, but it is also okay to avoid them too :)

I'm feeling something creeping on...LOL.....I was starting to feel a little sick last night and this morning, I was feeling it a little stronger. So, I made a super duper juice.  It has carrots, celery, apple and garlic.....hopefully it will kick it out. 

I just scrubbed the shower in our bathroom...and I am listening to court tv as I clean...I just find these trials fascinating.

I think I am going to pull out chicken for tonight's dinner.

Last night, we had pork, buttery garlic noodles, blacked eyed peas and peppers, and of course a salad :)

Hi there.  I can't remember if I mentioned that the first weekend in August, I went to my husband's banquet dinner....we stayed at a very nice hotel.  When we lived in Cali, I flew out to Georgia every other year for this....one of the best parts of the evening is a blogger I met here through blog land also attends these dinners with her husband..it is so nice to meet up with her and her family and get to talk :)

It was exciting and fun.  My Fil and Mil came over and watched the kids for us.

It seems that not a day goes by with out a little rain...I LOVE IT!!!  I woke up last night to the sound of thunder:)

Not a fan of having to drive in it, but love to be home and watch it :)

Last night's dinner was leftover tacos and chicken enchiladas.  On Sunday we had a birthday dinner for my MIL and she requested tacos..we had tons of leftovers so that is what we had last night too.

Tonight I took out pork chops.

I found a recipe for chicken spaghetti after I saw it on the Food Network.  The Pioneer Woman made it..Love her blog and her show.  I am going to make this, but I am going to tweak the recipe a bit.  Instead of using cream soups I will make my own cream sauce.

I have a new TIVO since the lightening destroyed my last box...things like that don't happen in Cali...LOL.  It took the cable man 3 hours to hook it up.  For those of you that aren't familiar with TIVO, it is like a DVR.  BUT, after a while it gets to "know" you and starts recording shows it thinks you might like.  The other day it recorded a show about trucks...LOL.....HMMMMM.  BUT, it also recorded an episode of Dr. Quinn :)  I love my new TIVO.

Axel's Birthday :)

My little dogs birthday is today. Axel is 8 years old today!! :) He has gained a pound, so he is now 5 pounds. I wouldn't know what to do with myself with out this little dog following me all around...and barking at every one...LOL

Banana Muffins!

Best Banana Muffins

1-1/2 c. all-purpose flour
1 t. baking powder
1 t. baking soda
3 bananas
3/4 c. sugar
1 egg, beaten
1/3 c. butter, melted
Mix together flour, baking powder and baking soda in a medium bowl; set aside. Blend bananas, sugar, egg and butter in a separate bowl. Combine flour mixture, stirring well; fill greased muffin cups 2/3 full. Bake at 375 degrees for 20 minutes. Makes one dozen

First Day of School!

First day of school! Now, I just have to wait all day to hear how it went...LOL......

Gooseberry Patch!

I was so thrilled when I found out they sell Gooseberry Patch at Cracker Barrel.

We went to Cracker Barrel on Saturday for dinner, and then on Sunday we went to John Boy's for dinner.  Such fun places to eat :) I can't find a website for John Boy's, but it is home cooking, buffet style :)  Very affordable too.

Last night's menu was roasted chicken, baked potatoes, green beans and a salad.

Tonight's dinner, Pork Chops, noodles with oil and garlic, steamed broccoli and a salad.

Tomorrow is the first day of school for Alexis.  I bought her supplies and I also got her a few outfits for school...I am never done on the school clothes, she is growing so fast..that is okay, I have a lot of fun buying her clothes.
She likes Justice, and I have to admit, you can not beat their prices.

I woke up this morning to rain...I love the rain.  I am finishing up on organizing Alexis's closet.  Taking out the old and putting in the new.

My new coffee pot, Keurig, I LOVE IT!!!!!
I am a coffee drinker..I drink a lot of it.  Hot or cold, I will drink it.  It keeps me going through out the day...there is always so much to do.

One more thing....I saw the biggest bee/wasp/hornet ever...We are not sure what exactly it was, but it was HUGE.  It was like the size of a dragon fly, but fatter and it had the colors of a bee....oh, it was BIG!!!!  I am not a fan of big flying things that sting.  :P

Tonight's dinner I took out some ground beef, I am thinking hamburgers.

Saturday and Sunday we will be going out to dinner, so no menu plans for those days :)

School starts Wednesday so I am getting everything ready for my daughter's first day of school.  We will be getting her first day of school outfit this weekend.

The school calendar is pretty neat, they may start earlier than most, but the school breaks are awesome :)

Tony has to be at work at 5 tonight, but my husband said he will most likely be home to take him...I get nervous driving in the rain...especially Georgia rain, it gets so dark.

I have the bedding in the dryer, so we will all have fresh bedding tonight.

Ants!!  Oh, BOY!!!  They entered my home with a vengeance....They are relentless and BIG!  I will win this battle though....LOL.

Pizza!

On Friday we went to Costco to do some shopping.  My husband likes the meat selection there and we really needed to stock up.  We went shopping after my husband got home from work, so by the time we got home from Costco it was kind of late.  We picked up a Costco pizza to make that night.  I snapped some pictures of it.  I wanted to share it with you all if you have never had a Costco pizza...they are really good...AND very inexpensive, $8.99 :)

Tuesday, July 24th, was my birthday.  I turned 42. I was thinking about my mother a lot.  How 42 years ago this was her day, this was a day she was going to have a baby.  I never did tell her thank you, for having me.  Please, if you can tell your Mom you love her.

My husband always does so many special things for me, and my birthday is no exception.  He came home with this beautiful cake:)  He wanted to take us all out to dinner, but we are going out to dinner on Saturday, and I really just wanted a quiet evening at home...He picked up Panda Express for dinner.

.............and, he came home with this!!!  My very own Keurig!!!!  OH, I love it!!  I am not sure if you remember this past Mother's Day he got me a new coffee pot, one that brews a full pot, so now I have two wonderful coffee makers.  I love my coffee...it is my vice.....and I just had a cup and I am wide awake...LOL.

Another Spaghetti Bake :)

I made another spaghetti bake.  This one was a little different than the others I have made.  It was actually a knock off lasgana.  I used almost all the indredients for a lasagna, except lasgana noodles. I used Ziti noodles and just mixed everything together...and then baked.  It was really good and cheesy:)

Good Morning!

I had a good night's sleep:)  I can not believe how nauseous I was the day before, it was not a good feeling.  I feel much better today.  I already took Tony to work.  After he has saved a few paychecks, we will be looking to get him his own car.  That will be soooo nice for all of us, especially me.  If you have read my blog for awhile, you all know that driving is my least favorite activity.  In San Clemente it wasn't so bad, since I new that town like the back of my hand...here everything is new to me and so many winding roads leading to places I have never been.  I am so thankful for the GPS, it really has helped me learn my way around here.

For dinner I took out some ground beef..We will be having some fancy hamburgers.....sauteed mushrooms poured over them.  I have some broccoli that I will steam for the veggie.  I don't have any french fries, and I am low on potatoes to make some..I use a lot of potatoes with my roast last night...my daughter just loves potatoes and "HOMEMADE" gravy...LOL..it can only be homemade, she does not like the store bought kind.  Maybe I will make some buttered noodles to go with the burgers......

Tuesday!

Have you ever had one of those days, where nothing seems to go the way it is supposed too?  It wasn't a bad day, just a trying day.....I didn't sleep that well last night, so I think that had a lot to do with it.  I think I got too much sun yesterday and it really made me feel sick, I felt nauseous all night and could not sleep well.  Tony, got a job, YAY!!..So I had to get him to work pretty early this morning........My day was just out of whack...LOL..You all know how well I do with surprises...LOL....

Last night's dinner was roasted Chicken, steamed carrots, steamed rice, salad and rolls.  Tonight's dinner was Pork Roast in the Crockpot, easy tonight:)  I am not sure what is on the menu for tomorrow, but I will let you know.  It will probably be something with ground beef.

I made some smoothies to go with the kids breakfast this morning......
Over the weekend, I found a place that grooms parrots, So Tiki, got to go for a car ride.

The Guinea girls are still as sweet as ever..I love those little Fuzz Balls..they are just so loveable.

Homemade Granola

I have a major grocery shopping trip this weekend.  I am looking up new things to make.  I found this granola recipe....it has no nuts, so that is perfect.  Does anyone have a tried and true granola recipe to share?  I am going to make this one and then I will post a review, it seems simple enough :)

The "Great Room"  ....is what I found that this room is called when I was googling...LOL.  Well, it is an "Empty" room here :)

How would you decorate this room.  I got lots of ideas from the Internet.  What I have learned, is it is a more fancy type of living/sitting room?  This house is almost twice the size of our last home and I do not have any furniture to put in this room.  I was thinking some nice sitting chairs....any ideas?

I took out pork chops for dinner....

Hasselback Potatoes

I made these potatoes and they were really good :)  Since it was the first time, I used Parmesan and Cheddar.  Next time I will use the cheese listed in the recipe.

Also, I also had to adjust the cooking time.  It took longer then the recipe stated.  It said to bake 20 minutes the first time, I actually cooked them 40 minutes.  I guess it all depends on your oven.  Click on the recipe to enlarge it.  If you have a hard time reading it, you can click on the link~~~~~> Recipe

New Purse

This weekend we went to the mall.  I saw this purse and it is the kind of purse I just love :)

I told my husband, look, I just love this purse.  He picked it off the rack and bought it for me.

I am not one to go purse crazy, I have a few purses, but I usually go with one and use it until I need a new one...LOL. 

I love this, it is soft and big and can hold alot of things:)

I got it at Claires, it was $28 marked down to $18 :)
I also got a new pair of hoop earings.  I like silver hoops and these are perfect.
