Laundry~~~

I will get back to posting more party pictures, but I wanted to let you all know, when I say I am in mounds of laundry, I am not kidding...LOL:) These are all clean and folded and a bunch need to be hung up. So today I will be working on putting everything away. Oh, and another thing it has gotten extremely hot here. I turned on the A/C for the first time this summer on Tuesday.
Hopefully this weekend we can get a pool. I saw a really nice one at Walmart for 69.00 and it has a filter too.

Last nights dinner was lemon garlic chicken, fresh steamed asparagus, loaded baked potato and a salad:)

Tonight it will be a ground beef dinner~~I am still contemplating on exactly what I am going to make with it:) Have a great Friday and more party pics are coming. I can't wait to show you my sister's face painting on all the kids, BEAUTIFUL!

Blessings!!

Bouncy House!

For my daughter's birthday we got a bouncy house. This house was HUGE! I had no idea how big it would be...LOL. It was funny, I had invited 15 children and as the day went on, there were kids in there I had no clue of who they were...LOL.
The Bouncy house is in my drive way

Happy July!

Happy July everyone! This is also the month I will be turning 40:) YaY! Anyway, July has been a very cold and wet month~~~it feels like winter more then summer. My daughters party will be on Saturday and I have to get going on getting the house ready. It will be mainly outside with the bouncy house, but I still want the inside to look neat and tidy too. Kevin has been out of town, but will be back today:) That is all for now...I have got to get to work! Happy Thursday!

Wednesday~~~

Yesterday, my daughter turned nine years old. At first she wanted a Disneyland party, but she ended up going to one with her cousin. So she changed her mind, so now not this weekend, but the next one, we are going to have a bouncy house, cotton candy machine and a snow cone machine, we are going to grill hamburgers and hotdogs. It should be fun. Last night for her birthday we took the whole family out to dinner, then we took her shopping with the money she received. Our present to her was a touch screen computer.

So, now it is a new day and I must get everything back to normal. Laundry, cleaning etc......

The weather here in San Clemente, Ca, has actually been chilly. I love summer rainstorms too.

We brought home so much leftover food from the restaurant last night, Kevin said that is what he wants for dinner when he gets home, so dinner will be VERY easy:)

Happy Wednesday!

Friday~Yay!

Well, it is Friday and it is also a teacher furlough day. So no school today, double yay. Last night was open house, so that was nice. I have been in her classroom a hundred times, but it was nice for Kevin to see everything, and Alexis was so proud to show off all her work:)

We had tacos for dinner. Tonight we will have pork chops.

I am now starting on the toy boxes, organizing those, throwing away broken toys, etc. That is a job!

...and yes, toilet paper rolls must be over.....LOL.

The weather today is overcast, but nice. I just got back from a trip to Walmart. Got a few things I needed. I also needed a new lipstick, so I got a pretty light pink. I was so in love with all the sundresses out. I can't wait to get a couple:)

Happy Friday everyone!

P.S. Would you let your 16 year old sail around the world?? My answer would be NO!

Monday!

Ants~~~~ Here they come~~~AHHHHHHHHHHHHHH! I went to Walmart over the weekend, and I bought some more Tupperware. Everything is going into containers. I forgot the ant spray though, ahh! So I really need to get some asap! Last year my son dropped a cracker in his toy box, and let me tell you the ants went crazy. I am not a fan of ants...LOL.

Tonight's dinner will be chicken tenders~~I may bread a few and cook a few in a marinade.

Okay, I have a question: Toilet paper roll, Over or under? :::Giggles:::

I hope everyone had a lovely weekend. The weather was just perfect here.

Also, the next Food Network Star started last night. I TIVO'd it, I can't wait to see it.

Have a great Monday!

Happy Saturday!

My husband let me sleep in today...I usually wake up when my little alarm wakes me up, A.K.A Little Kevin...LOL. Well, this morning I actually got to sleep in later then usual, it was a nice treat. Then my husband wakes me up and says he wants to take us to breakfast, so we went to IHOP---Alexis got the funny face, Kevin got the Silver dollar pancakes with eggs and bacon, I got the two egg breakfast and Big Kevin got the steak and eggs..as for Tony, he wanted to stay in bed...That's a teenager for you...LOL.

Then we headed to Walmart, and little Kevin got some new clothes, and Alexis got a new outfit for Thursday, she is going to a Symphony, how fun. After that we headed to the market and did some food shopping. Ohhh, I also got some Tupperware, yay!!

Kevin rented some movies, so they are downstairs watching some movies, and I am about to do some things around the house. It has been a nice day, I hope yours is lovely too:)

Tonight's dinner will be pork chops. I made fried okra last night, and they turned out awesome:)

Thanks for all you sweet comments.

Happy Friday!!

I love all days of the week, but I especially love Fridays! Fridays to me means everyone will be together for the next couple of days, and that makes me so happy. Fridays are also days that I try and finish up a lot of the housework, so I don't have to do too much on the weekends, but that doesn't always happen. Especially today, my to-do list is rather long. I have changed my big shopping day to Saturdays, because my husband comes with me. It is also nice, because he gets certain cuts of meat that he really likes, and it helps me plan my menu. I still going during the week, because there are just things you sometimes need and didn't anticipate running out of, kwim? I went to the market yesterday, because my husband was out of Coke, and we needed more milk, I buy two gallons at a time. We do go through a lot of milk, 2 gallons are usually about 5 dollars. The kids also like Kefir, especially the blueberry kind. I will buy that when it is on sale. Last week it was 3.00, yesterday it was over 5 dollars. I also needed yogurt. Little Kevin just Loves, Loves, Loves yogurt...oh and cottage cheese. I have to say my kids like just about everything. The only thing my oldest doesn't like is green beans. My daughter, I can not think of anything at this moment, hmmmm. Little Kevin, he likes and will try everything. I do have to be careful with him though because of his allergies.

I just absolutely love being a wife and mother. Nothing makes me happier then taking care of my family. Planning menus, doing laundry, making good food, loving them, playing with them, laughing and crying with them. They are my everything, and I thank God everyday for what he has given me.

Okay, now, I have lots I want to accomplish in the next couple of days. My car for one thing needs a good cleaning. I can't believe the junk that collects on the floor in the back..LOL. I have got a pretty good handle on my laundry too, YaY!!

The weather has been nice, summer dress time. I love wearing my dresses, I love being a girl...LOL. If you got this far through my ramble, have a wonderful Friday!!! XOXO

Oh, on the menu, something with ground beef, I am going to look around the net for a recipe:)
(I just like these old photos, I know sometimes they don't go with a post...LOL)

Happy June/ Happy Thursday!

I am so excited, school is almost over! I can not wait! Yesterday as I was driving home from dropping off my daughter at school, I was coming back in my neighborhood and someone had put a dresser outside with a free sign on it. I grabbed a friend and we got it into my car and I brought it home. It was in perfect condition and looks perfect in my daughter's room. SOOO, I spent yesterday going through all her clothes and reorganizing. I don't know why I didn't get a second dresser sooner. It is so nice to be able know what clothes she has, instead of having to dig through piles.

Today, I am going to make bread, work on laundry (of course..LOL). Then when I go to pick up Alexis, I will stop at the market and do some grocery shopping. I love having my kids with me when I shop.

My baby turned 3 in April, can you believe that? We had his Birthday at Chuck E Cheese, and he was just in love with that big mouse. It was rather cute. I love the games, especially Skeet Ball. My oldest, now 18 is a working man. He got his first job, and he is doing great. My sweet girl will be turning 9 this month and she wants to go to Disneyland for her birthday. That will be fun, it will also be Little Kevin's first time going. My husband got a promotion, the money is good, but I miss him when he has to travel.

I have my Topsy-Turvey going again, and I am very closely watching for those worms that attacked it last year.

That is all for now. Have a glorious Thursday:)

P.S. Are you planning on watching the new season of Kate plus Eight?

After Easter, I hope to be blogging more. My husband got a promotion and has been traveling for quite sometime, so my blogging was kind of on the back burner. Easter menu:
Ham
Potato Salad
Asparagus
Mashed Potatoes
Salad
Deviled eggs
Homemade Rolls
Stuffed Mushrooms
Possible a Roast too
When my husband gets home, we are going to go shopping for Easter Dinner, so I may be adding a few more things to this menu:)

Thursday

Last night we had a St. Patricks day dinner. Since my husband was out of town, I changed it up a bit, and made it more kid friendly. We had green milk:) Table spread

This is a loaf of sheaphearder's bread. Delicious, it was a huge hit! The kids liked it a lot better then my soda bread..LOL.

Green Potatoes~~~ I did this instead of the colcannon, I thought the kids would love the green:)

Steamed cabbage and carrots

Corned beef, that I slow cooked all day in my crockpot~~it was so tender!

I also made green jello, and shortbed cookies with green frosting.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
As for tonight's dinner I am trying a new recipe~~>Whole Chicken Crockpot Recipe
It has been such a warm week here, in the 80's. My husband had been fighting a cold for awhile, which is unusual, since he rarely ever gets sick. Then Little Kevin got the cold, then Alexis, and now I feel it coming on.
Laundry needs to be done, and I need to start my spring cleaning. I am really looking forward to this weekend, to have every one home!
Happy Thursday Everyone!
Happy St. Patrick's Day!!
An Old Irish Blessing
May the road rise up to meet you.
May the wind always be at your back.
May the sun shine warm upon your face,
and rains fall soft upon your fields.
And until we meet again,
May God hold you in the palm of His hand.
Tuesday!
Tomorrow is St. Patrick's Day, so I have a traditional dinner planned.
Corned Beef
Colcannon
Carrots
Green Salad
Irish Soda Bread
Green Jello
~~~~~
When I say tradition, I mean our families tradition. Looking up St Patrick's menus, I read Corn Beef and cabbage is not as popular to the Irish on this day as we think...LOL

Colcannon

(Photo and Recipe courtesy of the Foodnetwork.comm)

Ingredients
3 pounds potatoes, scrubbed
2 sticks butter
1 1/4 cups hot milk
Freshly ground black pepper
1 head cabbage, cored and finely shredded
1 (1-pound) piece ham or bacon, cooked the day before
4 scallions, finely chopped
Chopped parsley leaves, for garnish
Directions
Steam the potatoes in their skins for 30 minutes. Peel them using a knife and fork. Chop with a knife before mashing. Mash thoroughly to remove all the lumps. Add 1 stick of butter in pieces. Gradually add hot milk, stirring all the time. Season with a few grinds of black pepper.
Boil the cabbage in unsalted water until it turns a darker color. Add 2 tablespoons butter to tenderize it. Cover with lid for 2 minutes. Drain thoroughly before returning it to the pan. Chop into small pieces.
Put the ham in a large saucepan and cover with water. Bring to the boil and simmer for 45 minutes until tender. Drain. Remove any fat and chop into small pieces.
Add cabbage, scallions, and ham to mashed potatoes, stirring them in gently.
Serve in individual soup plates. Make an indentation on the top by swirling a wooden spoon. Put 1 tablespoon of butter into each indentation. Sprinkle with parsley
.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
As far as this being Tuesday, which is normally my shopping day, I really did not need anything...LOL. THAT, rarely happens in this household. The weather here is HOT!!!!!!!!! I mean air conditioning HOT, it is in the 80's!
Wednesday!
Last night for Dinner I made Kelli's Sour Cream Chicken Enchiladas for dinner. It is a good thing I snapped the pictures right away, because needless to say there was not much left afterwords..LOLThank you Kelli for sharing this delicious recipe! Doesn't it look good:)
Yesterday was my shopping day, so to today is my cleaning day, I also think I may bake some bread too. I love to bake bread, there is just something so rewarding knowing you made it yourself.
Today is another chilly day too.
I am not sure if I mentioned this, but my son Tony not only turned 18 on Friday, but he got a haircut. Short, just like little Kevin's. He looks so handsome! I love long hair, especially on my husband, but I have to say my son looks so nice with his short hair, it is a very good look for him :)
Not sure about dinner yet, but something comforting, because it is so chilly.
Happy Wednesday!
Tuesday!
Today was my shopping day:) So, now I have a happy kitchen. I plan on baking some bread tomorrow! For tonight's dinner I am making Kelli's Sour Cream Chicken Enchiladas. When it comes out of the oven I will take a picture to post .
Tomorrow, is usually dedicated to cleaning, so we shall see how much I can get done.
It was FREEZING today, the sun was warm, but the wind was so cold!
Have a happy Tuesday!
Oh, one more thing, I am roasting some garlic to make some hummus dip~~~I have to keep the Tahini out of it, because of my son's allergy. I hope it turns out good:)
Monday!
It was a cold and rainy Monday this morning. The sun is trying to come out. It is okay, I love cold and rainy days! Makes housework more fun..LOL. We had a nice relaxing weekend, I so enjoyed my husband home. Tony had a very nice birthday, and it was nice to visit with family and friends. Now it is time to get some work done. I definitely need to vacuum the stairs.
Look at what a weeks worth of housework can add up too. That is about what I have to do too:)
Definately do the bedding today!
...and of course playing in my kitchen. I think that is my favorite room in the house. I have a radio that I listen too, I listen to a lot of talk radio when I am in there. There is a really neat christian station that does a lot of talking about marriage, husbands roles, wives roles, etc..it is fascinating. The part that makes me giggle is the girl on the show is named Julie, and the man is named Kevin.
Cream Cheese Won tons Recipe
(I forgot to take pictures of my won tons, but I got this picture off of AllRecipes.com. Mine looked like this, except, I made mine a little more golden brown)
1 package of cream cheese
4 green onions, chopped (about 1/4 cup)
pinch of salt
1 package small wonton wrappers
Blend together ingredients. Drop 1 teaspoonful onto each of the wrappers. line the square of the wontons with water to make the wonton stick when you close it, fold in a triangle
Fry in hot oil until crispy and brown.
Serve with Sweet and Sour
Makes approximately 2 dozen.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

So, now you all know what my week looks like, what about yours?
I made this crockpot chicken with BBQ sauce the other day and it turned out fantastic, I slow cooked it all day and it was just like butter. I have left over chicken from another, so I was thinking of making a chicken salad. Any good chicken salad recipes, out there?
On another note, I need to do my toenails, they need a fresh polish. I learned if you rub baby oil on the cuticles it keeps them soft looking, so I have been doing that, on both my hands and my feet. My toenails right now are painted red and mt finger nails are in the French manicure.

Also, I know it is March, so that means I should do my tomatoes, so I am hoping I do better with my Topsy Turvy this year, and no more horn worms, yucky...LOL.

I also would really like to learn to can, I asked my Grandma and she said why would you do that, when you can buy canned goods these days for cheap. I guess it is just something I would like to learn:)
Happy Monday!!!

18

My oldest son turned 18 yesterday. I can't believe how fast this time went. We had a party last night and I made all his favorite foods. I didn't snap too many pictures, because we were having such a fun time, but I did snap him blowing out all 18 candles...:)

Today is Saturday and I am so thankful my husband is home once again from Northern California, I miss him so much when he has to travel. The home is not the same with him.

It is supposed to rain today, so we are just going to stay in and enjoy the day. You all have a happy Saturday!

Friday!

It is Friday, and I am so happy! My husband has been in Northern California all week, and he is coming home today! (YaY) That is why not a lot of posting going on this week.

We have had a fun kid friendly menu all week, so it will be nice to do some down home cooking for my husband:) My girlfriend had made cream cheese won tons, and they were so good, so I will be making those tonight too. Chicken is also on the menu. I have my laundry all done, including bedding. I just need to wash some towels.

I can not wait until he gets here:)

Happy Friday everyone. Oh, I almost forgot, I got my new glasses yesterday. They are so pretty, they are silver and very dainty.

Wednesday!

The pizzas we made last night turned out really great. The kids really enjoyed making there own.
I just made a fresh pot of coffee. Don't you just the smell of fresh brewed coffee through the home. Today is Wednesday, which is my cleaning day. I have my apron on and I am ready to make my home sparkle. Well, with a very busy 2 year old, I will be happy with just neat and clean, okay with a 2 year old, I will be happy with just clean...LOL.

I also replaced all my potpourri from apple and cinnamon to rose, it smells lovely. I have a list of things to do. I am sure you all know what a basic cleaning day is, toilets, floors, trash, vacuum, etc:)

For Christmas, I got the first 4 seasons of the Walton's, so I have the first season on for background noise and motivation. Olivia sure motivates me, just like Caroline.
Happy Wednesday. I am not positive about dinner, but asparagus is on the menu for sure, great sale on that yesterday.

Happy Saturday!

Happy Saturday! Today my husband and I are going to do a little Valentine shopping for the kids. I always give them a little gift bag with some candy and a toy, or any little cute trinkets I think they may enjoy:)

I am enjoying my first cup of coffee of the morning, and then I am going to start breakfast. Kevin had to go into the office for a little bit, but he should be home shortly.

I can't believe I knocked out most of my laundry, now the key that I must remember is to keep up...LOL.

I hope you all have a wonderful Valentine's Day~~~((((((Hugs to everyone)))))

I am so happy it is Friday and the kids are off for four days, YaY! I walked my mile this morning. Now, I am in the kitchen working. Cutting up veggies, cooking things to freeze. On my stove right now, I am making Homemade chicken noodle soup. It is a super day and I feel so blessed for my family and the life God has given me. Do you ever have those days where you are just so happy. I am so thrilled to be a wife and mother. I just wish I could organize my time better for more blogging. I love to blog and read all my favorite blogs too:)
Happy Friday Everyone!
