Friday!

 After everyone was safe and sound at home after snowjam2014, my son used our boogie board as a sled to play in the snow :)

 He also made his very first snow angel.  That was a good day, and it was COLD!!!!

My daughter will always remember snowjam, because she had to spend the night at the school.  There was absolutely no way we could get to her.  The road was completely blocked off by cars, it was an incredible site....My husband rescued her though, by walking to get her, my hero :)

Tonight's dinner was pork chops with sauteed onions, mashed potatoes with mushroom gravy, corn and a salad :)

Two more days and my children go back to school..oh, how I have enjoyed them home!

It was a lovely day today.

P.S. I think I am the only one who does not watch the Olympics.... I am happy when I hear our country won a medal, but I am not a fan of sports of any kind, not even skating...LOL.  I miss my Dateline on Friday nights!  ;)

Thursday!

I worked on my stove today, cleaning the grates.....how do they get soooooo dirty...I guess maybe I cook a lot...LOL.

Tonight we had a Hamburger Casserole with steamed broccoli and salad ...

My Oldest son called me today, he is doing well.  His Birthday is March 5th, and he is turning 22.  My father is going to have him over for his birthday.  I am so happy Tony will get a nice home cooked meal.  He told me avocados were only 50 cents a piece in California, so he bought a bunch and ate them...LOL..I am telling you, avocados are a staple in my home....I am glad Tony bought avocados rather than junk......KWIM?

My kids have been home from school for so long, it is going to be hard when they go back...back to a school schedule.

It was 70 degrees today, a lot different than 4 degrees....I am going to miss winter..It sure was an exciting year here in Georgia....and oh, the memories we all shall have.  Walking home in the snow, freezing, boy, oh boy.........

My Sil's arm is healing, she just got a new cast on today, PINK..she has to wear it a little while longer.

Saturday!

I hope you all had a wonderful Valentine's day :)  Ours was good.....but it was hard to prepare for the holiday, because we were snowed in all week.  My husband was able to get out though and get the children there gifts, so it worked out.

My Husband's birthday is this week, so we will be celebrating his day tomorrow.  44 years old.....and I am just a few months behind him.

Oh, did you hear on the news we had an earthquake last night...I could NOT believe it.  The entire house just shook..it was incredible.  Being a California girl, I am use to earthquakes..BUT not in Georgia.  My mind could not wrap my head around it.....LOL....I have felt a lot of earthquakes and this one felt A LOT bigger than a 4.1...really, it felt big!

We have A LOT of things going on right now, which of course I will share...but I am going to wait just a little bit, until everything settles down :)

My children are home all this coming week for winter break, and I could not be happier.  I so love having everyone home.

We meatloaf and mashed potatoes for dinner.

Oh, and about yesterday's post, blogger told me I had to fix this really old post from 2011 ...which was really odd...and then they posted it for yesterday's post.......

Hello!

 Okay, we have had quite a few weeks of weather that I have never been through before.....Stuck in the snow, my Sil breaking her arm sliding on the ice, my daughter getting stuck at school...having to leave our car and walk home....and according to the news we are headed for catastrophic weather this week. 

I have so much I need to update about...I just don't want to rush through it.

Sometime in March things should settle down.

Hi!

Yesterday for dinner my husband smoked a beef brisket in the smoker ALL Day......the results were, he was not impressed...oh well, at least he tried :)

Tonight's dinner I made baked chicken, mashed potatoes, and steamed veggies.

It was 61 degrees today, and then tomorrow it is supposed to drop back down to very cold :)  I enjoy all this weather..it is exciting for this Cali girl!

Did I mention my daughter is getting braces in February? She gets her choice of colored or clear, and she keeps going back and forth on what to get.  I would either get clear or pink ones...LOL...but that is just me.  I don't know why braces have to be soooo expensive...even with insurance they are still expensive.  This is an expense though, that will last her a lifetime :)

She will also be going to DisneyWorld with her school chorus, and she is super excited about it.  She wants to compare Disneyland to Disneyworld....Disneyland will always have a special place in my heart :)

My husband worked today!
I cleaned out our desk downstairs that collects all the mail and magazines and ads...oh boy, did I throw out a lot.  It is nice and neat now.

I popped the hose on my Kirby..YES, I did.....right before Christmas, So I was using the back up vacuum we have, a Hoover...no disrespect against Hoover, but I sure have missed my Kirby.  My husband ordered the new hose and he put it in this evening, I can not wait to use my Kirby again...LOL.  I LOVE that vacuum!  Worth every penny:)

Happy Thursday!!
It is cold!!!
I have a cold still, and the worst of it is in the morning when I am waking up.  Getting out of the warm bed and feeling awful.  After I get up and my blood starts flowing, and I brush my teeth...and sneeze a bit, I feel better!  It isn't that bad, it is just annoying...LOL...I am not good at resting, I have a million things running through my head that need to get done!  I do juice, and I do add lots of garlic and oranges, but I still caught this cold. Juicing is a wonderful thing, it really does keep my slender....I also think the older I get my metabolism has gone on over drive....I don't know.
I am putting a roast in the crock pot...a Pork Roast...I was asked how I make it......I put the roast in the crockpot, add potatoes, peeled and cubed, put a pack of onion soup over it and let it cook all day :)  Pork Roasts don't seem to produce as much juice as beef roasts so I do add water to it......

Wednesday!

I have a cold!  I did manage to get everything I needed to get done though.  I ran my errands and did the housework, dinner and such.  When I went to get Kevin from school, I had the heat on high in the car, oh it felt soooo nice!

Today I got the new Oil of Olay "Fresh Effects" products.  Yay!  I really like Oil of Olay, it is kind to my sensitive skin.  I still use my Ponds, which I love too

They sized my ring finger at a 4.5, but I think I could down to a 4, the only problem, is my bony knuckle...LOL....

I did a lot of cleaning today, while it rained a good part of the day!  My husband worked and my children rested and played.  It was hard being off school for so long and than having to go back.....

For dinner tonight I made baked chicken and baked sweet potatoes with mixed veggies.....I forgot to take a picture...OOPS!

I am going to call it a night, I am a tired girl :)

Friday!

It was a cloudy and wet day today.  It didn't rain real hard, just kind of drizzled on and off all day, and very cloudy.  The kids went back to school on Wednesday, and I miss them when they aren't here.  We went to dinner at the Waffle House, and now we have to be careful there because they now have Peanut Butter Waffles...Peanuts are EVERYWHERE....anyway, our waitress was very nice and I explained to her my son's allergy...he got hash browns and chicken that were nowhere near the peanut butter.....Then I got a Starbuck's after dinner, Peppermint Mocha!

Our sweet little Guinea Girl...Look how big she has gotten.  We have had her about 6 months now and she is just sooooooo sweet!!  I just love Guinea Pigs :)

 The cold is coming.....school may be closed on Monday, YaY!!!
I made bacon this morning, and yes, I bake it in the oven.  It comes out much better...less mess too!
