Comments!

I love all comments, from anonymous to people I know.  Usually all my anonymous commenters are long time readers, and I usually know this by how they comment to me, like the ladies that like my recipes...LOL.

Anyway, when you make a comment about knowing me and you live in or around San Clemente, it peeks my curiosity.  Why would you make a comment insinuating you know me, but not leave your name?

Stairs!

These set of stairs go to the upstairs

 Okay, this what I am going to do right after I post this!
These are the two set of stairs I talk about vacuuming all the time....LOL.  
They look really nice when I finish.  I use my Kirby...the middle of the stairs is what gets me, when I have to hold the Kirby and try and vacuum:)

The basement is like a whole other living quarters....lol.  It is actually bigger than my first apartment. Nice kitchen, living room, bathroom, 2 more bedrooms, one was made into a work out room.....I'll do a tour of it soon :)

Roasted Chicken!

I roasted a chicken yesterday..it was a nice size chicken too.

Do you remember Fly Lady's Rubber Chicken?  If you click on the link, the rubber chicken recipe is about midway down the page.  Fly lady has helped me a lot in the past 12 or so years....I take her ideas and incorporate them into my own.  So today in honor of the rubber chicken, I am going to take the rest of the meat off the bones and make another chicken dish :)  Last night we had roasted chicken with all the fixings...I had an extremely busy day yesterday, it was so out of the ordinary...LOL..Anyway, a roasted chicken is super easy to make.  I now have quite a bit leftover so I will take the meat off and either make a chicken casserole or Chicken Bwak-Bwak(Shredded chicken mixed with egg noodles and a little butter).  I really love to make chicken 'n'dumplings, (I love the dumplings) so that may be a possibility.  I do not eat any kind of meat anymore...I used to not eat beef and pork, and now I have just given up all of it.....BUT, I make everything for my family ..I do not push my non eating meat view on them.  Just never cared for it much.  I love my veggies though :)

Okay, so that is my dinner plan for tonight:)  What is yours?

Tuesday~~~>

I had "BIG" plans for today and this blog...You know those days when you have everything meticulously planned...and nothing goes as planned?  Yes, that was today.  I went shopping today and was going to do a video about it, but I was not able to do it.  I left the house at 8:30 this morning, and did not return until about 1:30....as I was shopping, my son called to tell me he locked his keys in his car.  I went home got his spare keys, went to his work to drop them off....as I am doing that, Alexis is texting me, telling me she is sick and is about throw up...so I rush to her school to pick her up.....and then some other things had happened, but I will go into those things a little later.....it was an incredibly busy day.

I hope you all have a wonderful evening.
I need to make my husband's lunch for tomorrow and then I am going to make a cup of hot tea and relax :)

My mother passed away 9 years ago, today!
I wish I had known her better.
My memory desperately tries to remember things.
I remember her gentleness
Her grace
I don't remember her ever raising her voice

I remember she made my clothes

I don't remember much.
She got sick when I was 10, and I had only seen her about 3 times after that.
I hope she knows, I am not mad or hold any resentment.  I love my mother and miss her and so wish I had known her better!
So for today, please hug your mother and tell her you love her, for me :)

Last night's dinner we had Pork Roast, mashed potatoes and gravy, macaroni and cheese, steamed peas and a salad :)

 This is the weather forecast for today.  It is going to be a cold day today.  The best part of today, is that it is Friday :)

I learned how to take screen shots of my phone, I thought that was so neat...LOL

Weather Update :)

Happy Thursday! Yesterday after I made the little video about our weather, it got much worse. The weather man actually said our county needed to go in the basement. Yes, this Cali girl was nervous.

I painted my nails red tonight.....I have noticed through my trials and tribulations of nail painting (remember I used to be a french manicure gal..LOL)...That Wet N Wild stays on REALLY well, and they are only about a dollar a bottle..Yay, on that!

We had pork chops, cheesy potatoes, green beans and salad tonight for dinner.

I also, cleaned out the fridge in the basement...Now, I need to to do the one in the kitchen:)

I am still going back and forth on those area rugs...I am thinking maybe the oriental is a better choice.......I don't know, but I will let you know as soon as we decide.  Decisions, decisions, decisions...LOL.

I am really curious what is going through the jury's mind....

Hi!

It is Sunday evening and I hope everyone who stops here has had a wonderful weekend.  Ours was nice :)

Tonight we had London Broil on the grill, macaroni and cheese, corn and salad.

Last night's dinner was baked chicken, mashed potatoes, mixed steamed veggies and salad.

Friday we had Pizza :)

I am pretty much caught up on laundry, but as you know, it is a never ending task...LOL.  I don't mind laundry, I really enjoy everything getting cleaned and put in it's place.

Now, of course there are tasks that I enjoy more than others.....Like I would rather do laundry than vacuum the stairs...LOL.

Oh, I almost forgot, I bought some more decorations for Valentine's Day....I also need to get my old decor out too....I picked up some little Valentine treats to put in Alexis's lunch everyday until Valentine's Day :) 

I am all ready for a new week, I hope you are too!

This is what's for breakfast today.
Publix had amazing prices on fruits yesterday.
I will buy fruit no matter what, because it is very important that my children eat fruits and veggies.

Anyway, I have lots to do today...first of all, shower...LOL.  Then I need to clean the Guinea Girl's cage, and Tiki's perch.....and so much more..Laundry, toilets, etc.....


I heard on the news that an Ice Storm is headed this way, WoW...hopefully the schools will be closed tomorrow :)

Pictures of Saturday!

Good morning.  I put my pictures in a slide show, using Movie Maker.  I was just playing around :)  On Saturday, we made several different stops.  I am looking for a new area rug for my living room.  Kevin and I have different opinions on the matter...LOL.  I like the shag style, and he likes the oriental style.  I took a picture of the oriental style one he likes, it is flowerey and then I took a picture of the shag I like.  Okay, what kind do you prefer?  I love warm tones, and a cozy home.  It is kind of hard to make this home cozy, being it is huge..but I am trying.  I love this home so much.  It is the prettiest home I have ever lived in and I want to decorate it nicely.  Have I mentioned I don't have a decorating bone in my body???

We went to the bookstore, and I just love bookstores!!  We were on a mission for a book for my daughter, but they were out, so we had to order it.  We did get Little K a book and I also got a cookbook stand for my kitchen counter.  Now I can display my cookbooks nicely as I am reading the recipe.

We also went to Gamestop and got Little K a new game for his PS Vita, Sonic of course :)

We went grocery shopping too, but I need to go again today...I need more coffee creamer.  Some of you know, I drink coffee all day long, so creamer is a necessity. 

I hope you all enjoyed my video that I made yesterday (in the post below this one), it was fun.....I will make more.  Chrissy, when it is warmer, I will take you on a walk around the neighborhood...lol..but it is too cold for this Cali girl at the moment...LOL..BRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR  :)

Monday :) Food!

I made meatloaf for dinner the other night:)  This is what it looks like going into the oven.

.............and of course, I served it with real mashed potatoes.  I have no problem using instant potatoes in a pinch, but I do like to make homemade potatoes.  I also made a mushroom gravy to go with dinner.

On another night I also made this broccoli cheese casserole.
I watched Paula Dean make it on a you tube video.  I will post the video below.  It was so simple!
I made just two adjustments, instead of using frozen broccoli, I used fresh.  I just cooked it for 5 minutes in boiling water to make it tender.  Paula also crushed ritz crackers on top.  I crushed Cheez-its :)

It was really delicious!

Friday ...Kitchen....

Good Morning!

It is a cold Friday morning, and I am having a peppermint Mocha Coffee!

Here is a picture of my kitchen, and on the counter is my crockpot, and I am slow cooking beans:)  I made Beans and Greens on Wednesday.

Close up of the beans.  Even in Cali, I made Beans and Greens...LOL.  It is just not a southern thing!

Here is a peek into

my pantry.....do you see all that fun food, well that is my husband's doing...LOL.  It is really a nice size pantry, a lot bigger than the one I had in the house in California.  In fact everything is bigger here in Georgia.  This house has so much storage and places to put things.  The bigger the home, the less cluttered it looked...LOL.  I still can not believe I was able to fill up my closet.  You all have seen my closet, it is bigger than my first apartment...Let me see if I have a picture.....

Okay, here is my closet.....still working on how to organize it.  In the far right is my sewing table and sewing machine.  The dresser all the way in the back holds my jewelry.  My perfume is actually on my dresser in my bedroom.

I hope you enjoyed the pictures.  I also enjoy going back and seeing what things looked like and what I was doing...LOL.  I am so OCD like that.

I have to go look in the freezer and figure out what to pull out...
ALSO, we have a 3 day weekend!!!  I am soooo happy about that!
It is soo cold here too, so please stay warm and drive safe!
