Do you see the chart on the wall, those are Alexis's *site* words that we have to practice through the summer---they are on the front and and back--we also have flash cards, and we bought a new writing tablet yesterday, to keep up on our studies. Happy Monday!!

Today is Monday--I can not believe it. Last week just flew by. Thank you all so, so much about my tickle. I think it is okay now, and now I need to buy a new honey bear. It is cloudy and overcast this morning, it is supposed to be about 80 today. It usually stays cooler here by the beach. I did not go shopping this weekend, I spent Sunday visiting my Grandmother--and what a nice day we had. She will be 88 in August.

I have been watching the news, and all the horrible things that have been going on this week--i am sure if you have listened to the news you know what I am talking about.

I have to reorganize my time and my schedule for summer--it is a lot different, considering I do not have to go back and forth 4 times to school. Last night I was thinking, I missed show and tell--I have a lot of catching up to do. My dining room table was covered with laundry that I had washed and sorted--and when my girlfriend called me last night, as she chatted I put everything away--multi-tasking..LOL.

We grilled last night for dinner, but I really need to restock my freezer---did you hear the grocery stores here are going to go on strike? Ugh----I don't understand that, I guess I never will--anyway, I have so much to do this week--I wanted to start with a blog post--I will be back with what has been going on through the week--you all have a good day. I put a bunch of pictures of Kevin, he will be 2 months tomorrow--look how he is growing--I wake up to that sweet smile every morning--how can anyone have a bad day waking up to a face of an angel:)

Tickle in my Throat

I have this tickle in my throat that will not go away, it has kept me up 3 nights in a row---I don't have anything to cough up either--just a tickle--and I am dry coughing constantly. I don't feel sick at all--just this annoying tickle--I have tried so many things to get rid of it too. Does anyone have any ideas of what I can do to get rid of this tickle in my throat? I would be forever grateful!!

Today is the first day of summer vacation for us--I am so excited, we have so many plans for this summer. Right now, I am planning Alexis's birthday party---I will tell you where it was, after the fact (kwim).

Anyway--HELP!!!! Please--this tickle is driving me crazy!!!

F A M I L Y

F A M I L Y
I ran into a stranger as he passed by, "Oh excuse me please" was my reply.
He said, "Please excuse me too; I wasn't watching for you."
We were very polite, this stranger and I.
We went on our way and we said goodbye.
But at home a different story is told, How we treat our loved ones, young and old.
Later that day, cooking the evening meal, My son stood beside me very still.
When I turned, I nearly knocked him down. "Move out of the way," I said with a frown.
He walked away, his little heart broken. I didn't realize how harshly I'd spoken.
While I lay awake in bed, God's still small voice came to me and said, "While dealing with a stranger, common courtesy you use, but the family you love, you seem to abuse.
Go and look on the kitchen floor, You'll find some flowers there by the door.
Those are the flowers he brought for you.
He picked them himself: pink, yellow and blue.
He stood very quietly not to spoil the surprise, you never saw the tears that filled his little eyes." By this time, I felt very small, And now my tears began to fall.
I quietly went and knelt by his bed; "Wake up, little one, wake up," I said. "
Are these the flowers you picked for me?" He smiled, "I found 'em, out by the tree. I picked 'em because they're pretty like you. I knew you'd like 'em, especially the blue."
I said, "Son, I'm very sorry for the way I acted today; I shouldn't have yelled at you that way." He said, "Oh, Mom, that's okay. I love you anyway."
I said, "Son, I love you too, and I do like the flowers, especially the blue."
FAMILY
Are you aware that if we died tomorrow, the company that we are working for could easily replace us in a matter of days. But the family we left behind will feel the loss for the rest of their lives.
And come to think of it, we pour ourselves more into work than into our own family, an unwise investment indeed, don't you think?
So what is behind the story?
Do you know what the word FAMILY means?
FAMILY = (F)ATHER (A)ND (M)OTHER (I) (L)OVE (Y)OU

Show and Tell

Kelli is hosting her Show and Tell and Friday. I so enjoy looking at everyone's show and tell. Here is mine. This is a picture of me when I was about 3 months old, and my dear grandmother is holding me. I am 36 now and my Grandmother is 87--and I think this picture is so ironic. It is one of the only baby pictures I have of me being a baby--and it just so happened my grandmother ended up raising me:) I love my grandmother with all my heart. Look at how I am looking at her.
Thank you for looking:)

Thursday's Post

Happy Thursday everyone!! I want to show you a picture of the back of my daughter's hair in a bun. I think it is so pretty. She asks me to put her hair in a bun a couple times a week, and it takes me awhile, because she has so much hair, but it looks so nice when it is done. I put it in a pony tail and then I have to braid it--and I use about 25 bobby pins.
I also have plans swirling around my head about father's day. I really want to celebrate my husband and let him know how much he is appreciated. I love my husband so much, and I could never say a bad thing about him--he is such a wonderful man--and nice to look at too (giggle).

I am also, going to be doing a major grocery shopping trip this weekend---I am taking this time to really clean out my refrigerator, and yes, I will share pictures too. I am also going to incorporate some of Kelli's snack ideas here--she wrote a wonderful post about it here. Well, that is all for now--you all have a wonderful June day.

I have been asked by a few how old Little Kevin is now, he is 7 weeks today:) Such a good baby too.

Meatballs and Brown Gravy

Last night I made Susan's meatballs and brown gravy, my family loved it--especially my daughter:)

I made brussel sprouts as the veggie to go along with it--I cut them in fours and saute them until they get crispy on the outside-->
Then as Susan suggested, I made some rice---> (that is my rice steamer)
Ta-Da!!! Here it is plated up. This was something my family enjoyed, it was easy and it was different. Thank you Susan.

I made the gravy with the bouillon cube too, it came out great. Easy cleanup too, because the meatballs were cooked in the oven.

Good Morning!!

Dinner Post

Last night's dinner, I made BBQ pork--instead of putting it on the grill, I baked it--my house smelled yummy and the meat came out very tender.Salad first-->
..and then the main course. BBQ pork, mashed potatoes, and green beans--I had dinner rolls, but I forgot to put it on the plate until after I took the picture--I just couldn't take the plate away from my hubby to take a picture of the roll..LOL;)

P.S.-->about the meme's

I was discussing meme's with a friend who blogs also--and it got me thinking:) I want to let everyone out there know that I appreciate so much that I was thought of with a meme. I will always try and play with time permitting and if it is an appropriate meme. Also, if I tag you, I want you to know, that I by all means will totally understand if you decline:) I, too also feel bad if someone feels left out, that would never be my attention--- so to those of you that want to play, I can't wait to read your answers and to those that decide to decline--that is okay too:)

Tuesday Morning

Good Morning!! Today is Tuesday. This is my coffee pot, it is set for 5:00 a.m. I will take a picture of Kevin's coffee pot another day, it is one of those coffee makers that makes star bucks kind of coffee--that stuff is way too sweet for me. ..and this is my favorite coffee cup---> What does your favorite coffee cup look like?
This is what I made for breakfast for Tony, french toast--->

Today, I have a few things swirling in my head of what I want to do. I have an idea for tonight's dinner, but that is in the making, it has something to do with ground beef. I have a bunch of pictures to post of the past few days, but I will do that later today. It is overcast today, a little cool. Have a great morning---xoxoxo
