Baked Potatoes
How do you make your baked potatoes? My husband wraps them in foil, makes a few pokes with a fork and puts them on the grill for an hour:)
When I make them, I wash them, then I lay one on a piece of foil, put a dollop of butter, salt, pepper, and sprinkle chopped green onions on it, then I wrap it in foil and poke holes in it, place the potatoes on a cookie sheet (because the butter drips out) Put in a 375 oven for about an hour or until they feel tender---I usually take a towel and gently squeeze the potato, if it feels tender it is done. The reason I season the skin, is the skin has the most vitamins, and I like to eat the skin. Plus, they smell really good.
Okay, now it is your turn---> Please tell me how you make a baked potato----either in the comments or on your blog:)
I can't wait to read how everyone does this.
The next time, I make baked potaoes, I will take pictures--to show you just what I do. I will also share how I make twice baked potatoes---YUMMY

This is perfect timing, Julieann! I bought some potatoes for baking up this week and I'm going to try your oven method along with some chicken, green beans and biscuits. Thank you! Give your sweet baby a cuddle for me. :0)

Julieann, I clean my potatoes really good then rub veg. shortening on the skin. Then I sprinkle salt and wrap them with foil! They get really crunchy :) Yummy!
I make them like Amber, but I add pepper too!
Another way I like to make them, although I guess I can't call them baked potatoes, is to scrub them, slice them real thin and place them on foil with butter, salt, pepper, and onions. Wrap them up into a packet so the butter doesn't leak out. We do them on the grill or over the campfire. We call them campfire potatoes!
No pictures today? :(
I actually make mine in the microwave
Thank you Julieann!! I'm going to get lots of great ideas now.
You're such a dear. (o:
I NEVER thought about seasoning the skin!! GREAT idea!! I eat the skin, too, so this is perfect!!
Oh and I wrap mine in foil and bake them in the oven. I give a gentle squeeze to test for doneness, too! :)

I do a variation of Leigh Ann's, except I add matchstick cut carrots and onion soup mix from a pouch and skip the salt and pepper. These are AMAZING!!!
I finally had a chance to bake a few.
Please don't wrap your potatoes in foil and THEN poke holes in it. This pushes little pieces of foil into the potato. If you must wrap in foil, poke your holes BEFORE wrapping in foil.
