Roasted Chicken

Roasted Chicken:

4 bone in chicken thighs with drumstick and skin

4 garlic cloves minced and rubbed all over the chicken with olive oil, get it under and in-between the skin and chicken.  Get it rubbed all over.
Then sprinkle pepper and I also generously sprinkled the Pioneer Woman's Anything Goes Spice all over the chicken too...rubbed everything inside of the skin and out.
Bake in a greased casserole dish in a 350' oven for about 45 minutes or until done.

I served this delightful chicken dinner with rice a roni.  You can totally make homemade rice a roni.........google it.  So much healthier.  I also served it with steamed mixed veggies..and some garlic bread..yummy~!!

I will do a post about homemade rice a roni.  It is actually fun to make.

Golden brown

This roasted chicken dinner can be served in winter as a wonderful winter comfort plate, or in summer as a light tasty summer dish.  The side dishes can be anything, you can steam peas or corn on the cobb and served with mashed potatoes or pasta salad.

Thieves Laundry Soap

I made some launder detergent that I feel really good about using.  Clean ingredients. It is from Young Living!

I used a 25 oz. bottle and put 7.5 oz. of Thieves laundry Soap, 1 ½ capfuls of Thieves Household cleaner about 10-20 drops of lavender oil or any oil of your choice and then I filled it with distilled water.  I made the label with my cricut paper and printer..  I used a glass bottle that was an old coffee syrup bottle...I think I made a beautiful laundry soap and laundry soap container.  If you would like to learn more, my link to the website is right in my side bar...…➡

Thieves is sooooo wonderful.  It smells like heaven!!!!

My Dad!

Last week, I traveled across the country to California, on a mission to see my Dad!!  I had tried several times and and spent thousands of dollars to see him.  Each time, the flight was canceled, things were changed because of the pan dem ic. I wasn't taking any chances, I told no one of my mission and I was going to get to California if it was the last thing I did!!!  I did, I did it!!!  I saw my Dad!!  My dad is in his 80's and I missed him dearly.  We talk on the phone regularly, almost everyday.  He is my rock, my father and my confidante.  He is getting older and his mind is not what it used to be, but if there is one thing he remembers is, I am Julie, I am his daughter and he loves me...I also happen to be his favorite as he has always told me.....his favorite person...tee hee!!! I got a huge hug as I left, and he told me he loved me, tears easily flowed from my eyes as I drove away.  The next day, when I was back home in Georgia, I called him and he said, you are my daughter and I love you.  Hearing my father tell me he loves me is so very special to me.  I will miss those words one day.  My father raised me since I was a young girl and I owe him so much.  He is with his wife and a nurse comes over during the week to make sure he is doing well and helps bathe him.  I know this is so hard on my father and if he ever wanted to be here with me, I would have in a heartbeat.  For now, he is with his wife and things are okay.

On my side, I just have my father and he is enough.

You never know the value of a moment until it becomes a memory....

This and That

Cookie Recipe

I made chocolate chip cookies and this is the recipe I used! I may or may not have added an extra cup of chocolate chips....tee hee!

My tomatoes sprouted and I was so happy!!

This has been a busy but great week.  I love busy, productive weeks, they make me happy and keep my mind in a positive direction.

When I am busy, I don't think of things that have happened in our life that we would like to forget.  I know we all have chapters in our life, some happy, some sad, and some meh'.....I have noticed that when I keep busy, it keeps me in a positive and optimistic state of mind.

I am reading the book, ATOMIC HABITS by James Clear, and boy, is it a good one!!!

Quote from the book: "Your habits shape your identity, and your identity shapes your habits!"

If your habits result in something positive, you will most likely continue them.  Drop the habits that result negatively in your life!!

Have a happy Friday my lovely readers and be happy, the rest will follow.
You my love, are not broken :)

Plants, Plants, Plants!

Hello!!
I am sharing picture of all things plant related so i can see the progression from now until the end of summer or when ever...tee hee.

My cute little froggie.

This is a stinky tree, but it is so pretty.  I am really excited for all things spring and summer.  I am going to do some tilling to make the dirt and pliable.  I am going to plant all the things and try and grow all the things.

Jonquils or Daffodils?

Do you see the baby Jalapeno?

I hope this spring brings you all happiness.  This has been quite a year for us....I am glad for things to be new again.  It is a beautiful feeling and the sun being out, makes everything a little bit better.
